    Morning all 😎

Ran out of time to post yesterday as I was so busy in the garden. I re-gravelled my little chill out area and rearranged it a bit. I filled the garden waste bin and finally plucked up the courage to use the shredder. It is powerful! It’s great for small clippings but not big enough to take thick branches. It make short work of turning a big pile of clippings into a tiny pile of shreds which I’ve put on the garden. Still got things to do but have made good progress. I couldn’t get Mr SA to help unfortunately he had an excuse for everything I asked him to do.

The B&B teas I bought don’t have any sugar or sweetener. That’s why I went in the shop to test them first because I don’t like sweet drinks. For instance the Mojitea one I’ve brewed for today has dried lemongrass, peppermint, lime pieces and green tea - that’s it. I managed to get 2 goes from the brew I made on Friday so 1.5 litres.

Top of the list for today is cleaning the house. DD is at work so I’ll be able to get it done without her constantly being in and out of the kitchen.

I also want to go to Lid! to pick up a coffee machine and bean grinder IF they have any black ones in stock, I definitely don’t want pink or green. I’ve been looking for a coffee machine that makes coffee without pods for some time but not interested in fancy milk frothers as I only drink black coffee. This looks like a good basic model that hopefully Mr SA can get to grips with. It’s only £50 so a lot cheaper than some I’ve been looking at. I don’t want to spend a lot in case Mr SA can’t use it. It took him long enough to learn how to use the T@ssimo. Anyway if it’s any good it will save a fortune in pods and I won’t need to take the used pods to recycling. The coffee grinds can go on the garden.

Today’s exercise will be walking to/from Lid! and yoga.

I’m making butternut squash and chickpea curry for tonight’s dinner. Trying another new recipe. https://www.thevegspace.co.uk/recipe-chickpea-and-butternut-squash-curry/#%F0%9F%93%9D-what-you-need

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪

I don't enjoy sweet drinks either but haven't tried cold-brew teas. We've been buying various flavours of the 'D*sh' canned drinks when they are on offer as they appear just to contain sparkling water & wonky 'use it up' fruit. Nice to find something pretty much calorie-free without horrid artificial sweetners.

    Your garden efforts sound great.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

My friend loves the same tea blend you have bought. I always enjoy going to her house to see what she serves up on a hot day . The garden shredder sounds good for the garden . Not long until your holiday , are you away for your birthday ?

Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.

I’ve had those drinks, they’re very nice and a change from plain water.

My birthday is a week today. I’m off work on Friday and the following Monday but we don’t go away until 1 September.

Blue raspberry was one of my favourites, I think it used to turn pink with a splash of lemon juice.

I might have to get some more now you've all reminded me how much I enjoyed them.
