Thank you both.Mr SA further testing my patience tonight by dropping his plate on the floor, breaking the cottage pie pot and splattering the freshly steam scrubbed floor with gravy 😖 There was a trail of gravy going right through to the kitchen. Not his fault apparently 😐I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Sending a few calming vibes SA
Was this before or after he ate the cottage pie ? - hopefully after and you didn't have to fix dinner 2.0 as well.1 -
With the milk, I'd up your weekly order a bit as it does last for ages and then tell them to buy it if that runs out as you're fed up, simple as that. Do they start using less and less so they aren't the one who either puts an empty bottle back or can't deny it ran out?? Having had teenage boys not too long ago, I know some of the tricks. I shop for my mum and I keep a couple of long life milk cartons in for emergencies as I'm not doing a 50 mile trip to pick up milk ! She actually likes it though and not many do.4

Tell DD to check before she goes to work and that she is to bring some home as necessary, or go without!! I bet the lesson will soon be learnt. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3

Does your DD no longer work for a supermarket? Bringing milk home when supplies are getting low should be a no-brainer. And if Mr SA can visit the charity shop, can he not go out for a pint of milk if you need it? I'd leave it next time it runs out, unless you'd already planned a supermarket visit. The penny will soon drop that it doesn't say 'Sole milk fetcher' across your forehead.

Yes she does still work at Mr M. I intended to message her to pick one up but Mr SA thought we could combine a trip to the shop with a dog walk. Still annoying though when we went to the big Mr T on Saturday and could've picked on up then. I usually order milk with the online shop.foxgloves said:Does your DD no longer work for a supermarket? That's Monday done.
Free coffee picked up this morning.
Worked in the office until lunchtime then came home for round two. Wish I'd left earlier when the sun was still shining as I got soaked walking home.
Stopped off at Lid! on the way. Picked up a free muffin for Mr SA.
The dog had been sick on the rug when I got home so I had that to clear up. Why oh why when all the floors are hard floors do my animals choose the rug to be sick/poop on!!
New 4 week budget period starts today. There was a small underspend of £65.08 in the last period. £5.08 has gone to the Christmas 2026 pot, £30 to the entertainment pot and £30 to the vet pot. Not as much left over as usual but I've spend quite a bit on stocking up things on offer. I've jiggled the budgets about a bit and separated out food from beer/wine and household stuff. Still the same amount of money but I just want to keep a closer eye on where it's all going.
Today's exercise: walking to/from work, aerobics at 6 and strength training at 7.15.
Tonight's dinner is gochujang tofu with mushrooms and spinach. Going to have that with some jasmine rice.

Morning all.
Went to the office this morning but only stayed until 10.30 then got the bus home as not only was I cold and sitting there with wet socks/trainers but I wanted to try and get the dog in at the vets today.
I think the dog has an infection as she's showing all the signs- lethargic, been sick a couple of times, panting then shivering and off her food. She slept at the side of me last night and I could feel the heat coming from her. I've managed to get her an appointment for this afternoon. If she needs antibiotics the sooner they start kicking in the better. I've never known her to have an infection before, the cats have had a few usually from fighting.
I didn't get the best night's sleep last night thanks to the dog making me boiling hot. I had to keep flinging the duvet off then I got cold and had to get back under it again. For some bizarre reason I often don't sleep well on Monday nights, no idea why as I sleep like a log 6 nights a week.
There's always something!

You have more patience than me on the milk - I would be adopting a response of "Oh, have we? Nobody mentioned and of course I wouldn't notice" the next time it runs out - might underline the fact that people need to be at least a little proactive in one way or another.
Just spotted your post about the dog too - poor little thing, hopefully the vet visit will sort her out.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
