Morning all, happy Thursday.
WFH and the last working day of the week for me.
Still got up at the same time so have done all my daily Spanish challenges and finished reading my current book which was so good I was sad to come to the end of it (The Secret Hours by Santa Montefiore). I love Santa's writing and always get completely absorbed in her stories. Now to choose a new read from my vast collection, a thriller next I think.
It won't be a NSD as I'm going to order Mr SA's outfit for DS's wedding today to take advantage of the M&S beauty advent calendar offer. I still have a gift voucher from my birthday and I'm going to see what discount the work scheme is offering on buying M&S gift cards. Might as well do it in as MSE a way as possible.
Well my nice new sleek hair didn't last long! Woke up this morning and I'd been visited by a gremlin in the night who had backcombed my hair into a ball of frizz. Had to wet it to try and tame it.
Today's exercise will be a short yoga session later, dog walking later this morning, strength training at lunchtime and the dance challenge. Zumba isn't on tonight and is replaced with resistance bands but I might take a look at the plant based workshop instead as I can't usually go to this because of Zumba.
Tonight's dinner isn't decided yet, I could do with using something up out of the freezer, probably something involving tofu.
DD is working today so hoping to give the kitchen and bathroom a good clean while she's not forever in one room or the other.
I'm trying to come up with a plan to fit in all the things I'd like to do but don't really get time for. For instance more yoga, meditation, gardening and a daily short cleaning session so I don't have to cram it all into the weekend. I have good intentions at the start of the week but feel like I get sucked into a vortex of work and get spat out on Friday. I find time to fit in the exercise sessions and they are a priority for me. In theory I should be able to fit these things in. Most nights I don't finally sit down until 8pm and I generally go to bed around 9pm. I'm so exhausted I often fall asleep around 8.30. I need to make these things a habit I think that's the answer. Failing that I'll have to wait until I retire 😆
I'm having my nails done this afternoon so I'm going to log off at 3pm. Yesterday I went back to work after I'd had my hair done and got caught up in a whirlwind of dealing with urgent requests. So today that's it at 3pm I'm logged off until Monday.
Mr SA should've had his flu and Covid jabs yesterday but forgot. He blamed it on me!! I'd reminded him earlier and at the time of his appointment I was stuck in a long meeting and couldn't check if he'd gone. I'm going to have to book him on again now.

Yes there are but I've booked him in the same day as me now so he can't forget this time.Makingabobor2 said:Don't you have any pharmacies doing Walk-in vaccinations? Round here you can just go in without an appointment if you want.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
I forgot to add, yesterday the Am@zon order arrived with the wheatgerm pond fish food. The fish food container was completely trashed and the food had emptied out inside the box. I contacted customer services and they sent me a refund without having to return the fish food. I was just hoping for a small discount so a full refund was a bonus. I've managed to decant the food from the box into a bag but need to look for something a bit sturdier to keep it in.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Your comments re night gremlins and hair reminded me of an ad from long ago @Sun_Addict.A gorilla uses a sleeping man as a mop. Man horrified by his hair come the morning and damps it down with gel. The gorilla looks on mournfully to see his work destroyed.4

We usually go together but this year it’s via the chemist rather than at the GP clinic. I don’t know why I picked separate dates other than I wanted him to have his as soon as possible and the date/time wasn’t convenient for me.I managed to finish at work at 3pm and made sure the laptop was packed away and in my bag so no one could hassle me. I ticked everything off my work to do list so happy with that.Had gel varnish on my nails, gone for a glittery conker brown colour. I always get swayed by glitter 😆I ended up making harissa tofu chickpea and spinach stew for tonight’s dinner and there’s a portion left for tomorrow’s dinner. It’s from my Deliciously Ella app so can’t share the recipe but it was indeed delicious. It used up some tahini too. Oh my days tahini is the devil’s work separating itself into a layer of concrete topped by a layer of oil - you almost need a cement mixer to mix it up 🤣
Ordered some elasticated waist trousers and a knitted polo shirt for Mr SA for DS’s wedding. He likes them so hopefully they’ll fit ok as he was a tad optimistic about his waist size 🤞🙏😬
My new boring but practical black Skechers have arrived and they seem to be comfortable at first try on. Whether they really are waterproof will be put to the test at some stage no doubt. More importantly the soles look as though they’ll grip well. I’ve slipped a few times on wet leaves recently. I get through trainers like nobody’s business due to the sheer amount of use they get.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Love a pair of Skechers. I get through loads as well. I also have their walking boots which are great. Try V*nt*d for some bargains. Not all 2nd hand on there, and some just only worn once or something & excellent value.Making the debt go down and savings go up
