@Sun_Addict glad DD home but sorry to hear about the pain she's in. I would call the hospital and point out that she's been discharged without proper pain relief, in your best assertive manner! This is totally unacceptable. Love Humdinger xx4

I’d add arnica to her meds too, they will help with the internal swelling. I came home with codeine and paracetamol after mine out,Sealed pot challenge 822

How is she doing today? I don't know how long recovery should take but it doesn't seem right not to be given pain relief.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That's Monday done.
I haven't spoken to DD yet as I've not long been back home from the office and I've been faffing about with updates happening to my laptop. It's been a bit manic today with meetings etc. However she was planning to chase up the hospital/GP surgery about painkillers. I expect this is the trouble with being discharged at 10.30pm on a Friday night.
Stopped off at Lid! on the way home. Mr SA met me as I needed to pick up a bag of compost and a sack of potatoes. Finally got my free avocado after them being out of stock on Friday.
Today's exercise was walking to/from work and I'm going to do a live kettlebell session at 7.15.
Tonight's dinner is split pea curry a recipe from one of my PON books.
Did my usual Monday check of finances and reconciled receipts against cc app. I could do with a couple of quieter spending weeks now as the last couple of weeks have been a bit spendy with still two weeks of the budget period left.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Hospital pharmacies do seem to have their problems. When I had my second cataract op they sent the wrong meds but by the time I was ready for discharge the pharmacy was shut. 5pm in a major city hospital!!! I dont know what the A &E dept does for theirs. They did track mine eventually but it took ages. I hope your dd has got some now.2

Hope DD has got some suitable pain relief now.2

Just caught up again.I was pleased to hear the dog was sorted and is back to his usual self again. It’s awful the way they send people out without Pain relief the same day as surgery. Hope Dd is feeling a bit better now and the gp has given her something stronger than paracetamol.

That's Tuesday done.
Worked in the office until lunchtime and finished up my day from home. I don't need to go into the office again until Friday.
Finally heard back from the pet insurance and they have refused my claim which is disappointing but not unexpected. Reason being because the polyp in the dog's ear was first recorded in September 2023 this was classed as a new condition and the policy only covers new conditions for 12 months. So anything ear-related isn't covered from September 2024 onwards. Oh well at least I tried. Hopefully the policy price won't shoot up now because I've made a claim even though they haven't paid anything out.
When I got home Mr SA had bought himself yet another pair of canvas shoes from the charity shop. He's been faffing about with the laces ever since I got back home. After pestering me to death about some new clogs I ordered him a pair from eBay - he chose white ones 😐so those are on the way. He also got his orange sunglasses which he's really pleased with. I wonder what's next - I predict a man bag pester incoming.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and I plan to do a live resistance bands session at 6.30. I'm trying to build in some extra resistance/strength training as I already do plenty of cardio.
Managed to pass Lid! without going in 😆
Tonight's dinner is a portion of veggie cottage pie from freezer stocks with steamed veg. Realised last night when I was making the split pea curry that I really shouldn't plan to cook things from scratch on Mondays and Tuesdays when I'm in the office and don't have much time.
I'm letting Mr SA watch the football tonight so will find something productive to do.
