Glad DD's op has been done and she's safely back on the ward. Enjoy your G&T! 🥂2

Thanks both. She’s phoned to say she’s coming home tonight. She sounded very groggy though. Sounds like the op went well. She was worried about being kept in because of her previous issues with the aneurysm and the fact she’s still anaemic but seems everything is okay. I’m going to ask DS not to visit with the GKs tomorrow because they hassle her to death and she won’t feel up to it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

That's a good idea. She'll feel a bit sore for a few weeks. Think it took me about 2 weeks to get back to a sense of normal.
She'll feel better being in her own bed. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

It seems fairly normal now. I had a hip replacement at exactly the same age as my father just 25 years later. He was in for 2 weeks & I was out less than 24 hours after the op & I was fine to come out too. He didn't drive for months & I waited 4 weeks although only because I felt I ought to as I was completely fine after 2 weeks. A lot of it seems to be the difference in the meds you have. It is a little weird listening to someone taking a hammer & chisel to your hip though.3

She’s not back yet so could be pretty late. She’s been discharged at 1am before 😞 She’ll be glad to get back in her own bed that’s for sure.DS and the GKs aren’t coming tomorrow as the GKs are at a party. So that’s worked out well for DD.Our local pub has had a massive makeover, been closed for a couple of weeks, so I think we will head there tomorrow lunchtime to have a nosy and have a bite to eat.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

A peaceful day for DD and a pub day for you sounds perfect. Hope she's not too late back, though as @Willowtree222 says, she'll be glad of her own bed and being back home2

I hope your DD gets a good night's sleep. Good to have her procedure behind her and excellent that they feel she's doing so well she can come home.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
