I feel for you and understand as this is the same as my mum although she is fully aware of what has happened she just has no control of things.  We have to carry around a bag of spare clothes and cleaning things just in case.  It limits us going out as a family quite a bit.

The theatre sound like they did very well to accommodate the situation.  I hope this was a one off and your holiday is event free.

That's completely awful and such a shame when you were looking forward to the show. I hope Mr SA is okay now. Can the walking poles get 'lost' or run over or something?

Looking forward, however - two weeks off! Lucky you. Hopefully you've had all the nasties at once and you can enjoy the coming warm weather and your time abroad.

Oh my life, @Sun_Addict, what a nightmare evening. So sorry to hear that it ended up like it did. You must both dread these accidents happening. Thank goodness the theatre staff were so helpful & that the taxi driver was ok about driving you home. I can understand how worrying it is becoming for you in terms of going out or on holiday. I don't know whether it's possible to increase meds or swap up to different continence products, but one thing I think you do need to do, is snap those bloody poles in two & throw them straight in the wheelie bin. They sound like a whole heap more trouble than they're worth.
Hope things are calming down now & that you have a better day tomorrow.

Sorry to hear your evening was spoilt SA and I would suggest you ditching the poles. Very frustrating for you and maybe an ultimatum to Mr SA next time that he either goes in a wheelchair or not at all and you go with a friend or on your own.  I do hope that your holiday is straightforward. Presumably you have special assistance booked.

Yes we always have special assistance at the airport @enthusiasticsaver. It’s a lifesaver as it means we don’t have to queue. Downside is we’re always last off the plane.

We used special assistance for the first time a few weeks ago as both my granddaughters are autistic and get very anxious and liable to have a meltdown if they are made to queue in a busy area and they were especially so as neither had flown before.  Both airports in the UK and in Spain were brilliant so we bypassed all queues for bag drop, security, departure and passport control the other side.  We were taken off first though as they do not have mobility issues.

Hopefully you manage to have a lovely break in Lanzarote.  You deserve it after all you have to go through.

Oh no, what a disasterous evening. But glad the staff & taxi driver were helpful.
Wonder if Mr SA actually gets subconciously nervous about going out and maybe that causes accidents. Emotions can cause physical problems, and Mr SA is probably just not able to control them.
Hope he's ok for the holiday
