Back from the vets, we only just made the appointment in time as Mr SA wasn't ready, despite me telling him we needed to leave the house at 8.15. I reminded him at 8am and he was finally ready at 8.25!! The dog's ear infection is clearing up nicely but she needs to have an ear maintenance plan in place for the rest of her life due to recurring infections. The first plan is to try an ear cleaning/antiseptic solution from Am@zon for 6 weeks. If that doesn't work she might have to have a steroid spray or go back on the anti-allergy tablets. I've run out of free vet consultations for the dog so £38 paid.
Back at the vets next Thursday for the young cat's annual booster and check up.
Mr SA got his coffee and sausage roll and I got my BnM shop. I picked up some more storage boxes as I still need some for getting things ready to go in the loft when we have the new hatch and ladder. There were a couple of things I couldn't find so didn't get everything on my list.

Eek to expensive animals, I mean obviously they're worth it but I don't miss those sorts of nasty surprises! HRH was a devil for getting into fights and then getting infections as a result - she nearly lost her tail as a result of one such incident.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

My old tom cat was forever at the vets with infections from fights. Whenever the vet pulled up his details on the computer it said scrapper at the top of the page 🤣 The vet once said the fights and frequent antibiotics would shorten his life - he lived to be 21 😆
I feel absolutely exhausted tonight. This week has been overwhelmingly busy both home and work wise. I feel pulled in all directions. Trying to get the antibiotics in the cat was a nightmare, ended up with half of it on my hand, although she did eventually have the painkillers in a squeezy cat stick thing but trying to get the painkillers out of the pack with the pipette provided was almost impossible. Tomorrow the lot is going in the squeezy stick. Then had to do the dog’s ears. Also had to cook dinner amongst this mayhem with Mr SA complaining he was hungry 😐The plan for tomorrow is to go into the office until around 11 then come home and do a few more hours to try and catch up a bit. I’d be able to get on with things if I didn’t keep getting asked questions from people who seem to think I know the answer to everything!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -

Glad the young cat is improving. Some cats just seem to know the moment any medicine or flea treatment is coming their way and then use all their guile to avoid it. The squeezy liquid treat things are now my go to tool of administering medication to my cat. He loves them so much that he slurps them as quickly as possible without having time to detect anything he might not want.
hope you have a good day tomorrow and can catch up with work.2 -
Happy Friday 😁
That's January and another working week done.
Worked in the office until 11am as planned, finished up at home. Not used to this working on a Friday afternoon lark 😆
Payday shuffle done. CC balance paid off, £100 sent to Premium Bonds, an oddment of £5.87 sent to the Christmas pot, £72 sent to the annual payments pot and £120 sent to vet/glasses/appliances pot. The vet pot now only has £18.23 in it after recent vet visits so I'm prioritising building this back up to at least £500. Money for the 5 regular savings accounts (yes 5!!) has been set to one side.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and day 7 of the 30 day yoga challenge just before I get in the bath later.
Brace yourselves - I managed to walk past Lid! without going in - I know, shock!! There is a method in my madness as a) I don't really need anything today and b) what I do need can wait until Monday when my new budget period starts plus the new coupon plus collector will have started so what I spend on Monday will go towards February's spends.
This means it's been NSD10 of January which is what I was aiming for.
Tonight's dinner is stir fried jerk prawn and peppers with rice.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)10 -
Glad the cat is on the mend. The vets bills are SO expensive 😳😳 I know they’re worth it but it’s really made me re think getting another furry friend….
Find some time to chill over the weekend 🤞January spends - £587.583 -
