Hope you're having a lovely cosy evening 🥂
I had a really good guess but guess was American not British so I'm wrong
I think the show concept came from Japan, where many of the most brilliantly bonkers ideas originate!2 -
Afternoon all. It’s been dark and gloomy here all day and started raining earlier.I’ve had another productive day. Have had a good clean round and have steam scrubbed all the floors. Some washing and ironing done.Made a batch of roast butternut squash, red onion and red pepper soup for work lunches. Made a meal plan for the week ahead using ingredients already in stock. Tonight’s dinner is smoked haddock with cauliflower and Pearl barley, an old favourite.Exercise has been dog walking and day 2 of the 30 day yoga challenge.Money wise it’s been a NSD and I’ve won another lucky dip on the Lotto. It’s a pity these lucky dips I keep winning don’t turn into actual money. Will be having a nice soak in the bath shortly with a face mask, candles and a magazine.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

I never seem to win on the lottery only on the set for life - so £10k a month for 30 years. It always used to say that it could be inherited but I re-read the t&cs recently. They buy an annuity & the person inheriting only gets the balance of what they paid for the annuity less what has been paid out. So at my age I doubt there will be any left as it is unlikely that they would expect me to live to 108.

A face mask, candles whilst reading a magazine in the bath sounds lovely 😁January spends - £587.581

Haven't watched the Masked Singer but I'm surprised to find myself enjoying and I mean really enjoying Great Pottery Throwdown.3

Another Throwdown fan here. Even DH, who thought it would be like watching paint dry, is hooked. This week's was fascinating, though I do wonder if they have first aiders just off camera when they get things out of the kilns!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

We love Throwdown, if anything even more than Bake off! The Raku week always terrifies me as I'm always convinced they'll drop their items getting them out of the kiln with those tongs!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

That's Monday done.
Worked in the office for most of the day then finished up the last hour at home.
Stopped off at Lid! on the way home to pick up some more of the things I buy regularly that have 15% off. I now have a free shampoo/conditioner/shower gel coupon after hitting the £100 spend target.
Monday finances update done. The final week of the budget period has commenced and all is looking good for a decent underspend. Credit card balance cleared and an oddment of £7.18 sent to the Christmas pot. Just waiting for payday now for the big money shuffle.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and I have a live Fun Fitness class at 6pm followed by day 3 of the yoga challenge.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of lentil ragu from freezer stocks with spaghetti and side salad. I must've made a boat load of this ragu because as just when I think it's all gone another portion appears 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
Morning all, happy Tuesday.
WFH today, no pounding the pavements in the cold and dark this morning.
Mr M delivery has been and put away, just a small order this week as I have plenty in stock.
Today's exercise plan is dog walking later this morning, a live Power Punch session at lunchtime and Resistance Bands tonight. Plus Day 4 of the 30 day yoga challenge.
Mr SA has been identified by our GP practice that he would benefit from a free lung health check. Apparently someone is going to call him at a random time and assess him over the phone. Of course he's fretting about this but I pointed out it will be because he was in hospital with double pneumonia last May. He had a chest x-ray a while ago and everything was clear. This set him off moaning that he's bombarded with all sorts of tests/appointments he doesn't want but can't get an appointment with the GP when he needs one - he definitely has a point there!
Tonight's dinner is sweet potato, chickpea and kale stew which will use up some bits lurking in the fridge.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)10 -
Not totally convinced that a lung health check is something that can be done wonderfully efficiently over the phone - I mean clearly if someone actively sounds massively breathless it might be a red flag for them to be called in, but there's a lot it's not gong to identify!
