The traffic on the roads was terrible this morning. I think more people are starting to work in the office again on Tuesdays.

Mondays and Fridays are usually a lot quieter on the roads.
  • @Sun_Addict, the office situation sounds incredibly inefficient. We have a booking system which usually works ok as certain desks are assigned to certain teams but tues-thurs is always busy and there aren’t nearly enough desks to cover everyone who is going into the office, (the company didn’t renew some of our offices so now limited space). I WFH the majority of the time but have to be in tomorrow and as soon as I got the invite I checked the booking system… no desks available 😂. I’ll check again later in case anyone has a change of mind.

Had the same problem before I recently retired. We moved to a new building a couple of years ago and because since COVID everyone is now allowed to wfh 2 days a week (previously only certain people were allowed - managers mainly) they reduced the amount of floor spaced leased. Each workgroup has a designated group of desks - our group had 6 seats allocated to us but we had 18 in our team. If you got to work after 8.30 you had to wander the floor looking for a spare desk - no booking system.
  • I save the tablet blister packs and recycle them through a Super Drug pharmacy  but they are few and far between.
  • With our wifi booster the phone/laptop sometimes often needs to be manually switched as its still trying to pick up the hub if the device has been nearer that, have you checked your wifi settings on phone and ipad are definitely switched back to booster?

How frustrating about the recycling. I really think it should be law that a place can't sell something unless they offer to recycle it too

    Very cheeky of the postie!

3 months is no time at all.  I know modern stuff has a very short life but not even a year is pathetic.  Can you go online to whoever you bought it from & give say how bad it is (as it deserves)

What a frustrating day for you. The only things I can suggest are both via social media: if you message the booster company on FB you are quite likely to get the information you need. Worth a try if it gets you a refund?

For the coffee pods, is there one of the freecycle/Olio type groups you could contact, as there may be someone collecting the pods who would be willing to take yours for the sake of the environment? I also wonder if there's a scheme somewhere that collects them to raise money for charity. I hate things going in landfill but at the end of the day there's only so much you can do if facilities are withdrawn.

(A further thought: could your work sponsor a collecting point? They seem to have some good thoughts in other areas. My workplace hosted a bra bank which is nothing to do with the business but a constructive thing to do).
