    Afternoon all.

Worked in the office until lunchtime and now back at home to finish up. Picked up my free coffee courtesy of 0ct0pus this morning.

Stopped off at Lid! on the way home and picked up a family pack of peppers for my free vegetable item. Also bought a few other things with the 15% off that weren't in stock on Friday. I can't believe how much stuff I got for £12.86!

Have done my usual Monday finances check, already on week 3 of the 4 week budget period and still doing well.

Received an email from the travel insurers saying they are putting up our annual insurance from £61.32 to £143.47 a year. What the 😠 that's more than double for no reason! I will be shopping around for a better quote that's for sure. The autorenewal has been cancelled.

Today's exercise walking to/from work 19,128 steps and a live aerobics type session called Fun Fitness at 6pm so will be on well over 20,000 by the time I flop on the sofa tonight.

Tonight's dinner is spiced butternut squash stew with dumplings made from yoghurt and SR flour. I already made this yesterday and have two portions one for today and the other is earmarked for Wednesday.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Well done on the insurance saving, these people really do take the pee don't they! Fab to come out of doing a food shop feeling smug too 👏

  • That's a huge difference. I wonder where they get their prices from for renewals

I wondered the same when we were renewing pet insurance last year… £250 more than the quote I received from others with the same cover, no claim or anything and doggy is only 4. That said, car insurance came back down to a respectful £280 a year from a huge hike last year (interest rates impacting that, perhaps?).

@Sun_Addict, that’s a great price, credit to you for shopping around x

Probably asking multi millionaire shareholders where they'd like to buy a house this year and dividing the amount it'll cost between all the customers they reckon they can mug off

Well I was going to say think of a number & double it but I like yours better.
