The dog burying bones made me smile. We had a fox terrier when the children were young and they used to feed him toast crusts under the table. You’d find toasty bits buried all over the house…..not appreciated in bed 🤣
Exciting times to be nearly mortgage free 👏👍
We’re debating about loft ladders when the roof is being tackled. It’d probably need flooring too but I’m not sure if it’s worth it in our house as it’s only a shallow loft area as the bedroom ceilings are curved into the roof space.January spends - £587.581 -
I realised that after this year’s payments and overpayments there would be just one payment of around £250 remaining for January 2026. That’s when I decided I may as well make an effort and clear it this year. I’d earn more by putting it in savings as the interest rate is only 1.94% but you’re only talking about a few quid. We’ve had a mortgage since 1985 so about time it was gone 😆 The original term was due to finish April 2027 so will be paid off well ahead of schedule.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9

Took down the Christmas tree and put it in the tree bag I recently bought also stored the baubles in the same bag. Well it looked like a body bag it was huge 🤣 Had a brainwave and decided to store it under the window seat in the bay of the living room window as there’s nothing in there. It fits perfectly, lid back on, cushions back in place, job done 🥳 Need to remember where it’s stashed next Christmas though. Please remind me 😆
Replaced the Christmas tree with the lighted twig tree I keep up all year round so it doesn’t really look that different.
Mr SA has been tasked with taking down the outdoor lights tomorrow then that’s the last of the decorations down.We went to the big Mr T earlier so a job saved for tomorrow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -

Great plan to be mortgage free his year. It is like a weight being lifted from your shoulders even though you didn't realise there was a weight on your shoulders.
Your dog's antics with the chewy bone did make me smile.2 -

Happy Saturday 🥂
Tried the new live Salsacise class this morning, they had a few IT issues but looks like it will be a good class, quite similar to Zumba really, same type of music.Braved the scales to see what damage Christmas had done and was very pleasantly surprised with just half a pound on. I was expecting more than that. That said I’ve not exactly over indulged but had a few meals out in December.Took the dog on the park afterwards then just went to the local shops for a paper. I stopped off at a local boutique as they had a sale on and bought some new slippers and gloves - both needed and only £15.99 for both.Took down the fairy lights from the drive. Mr SA set them up and they were in a complete tangle, it looked like he’d just thrown them haphazardly on a bush. Eventually sorted them out but I was on the verge of taking a pair of scissors to them and binning them.Tonight’s dinner is beetroot burger with wedges and salad. Rose Prosecco in the fridge for watching The Masked Singer tonight. When it first came out I hated it and refused to watch it but Mr SA persuaded me to give it a chance as he was enjoying it. The next thing I knew I was involved in a friend’s FB discussion on who we thought the singers were from the clues given 🤣
