Wonder if your DH and mine are related, I took the fairy lights off the tree in the garden that DH had put up and spent at least 30 mins detangling them. Surprisingly he was nowhere to be found whilst I was doing this.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.003

Great news about the mortgage SA! Yes the feeling of finally actually owning your own home is fantastic!I've loved the dog bone discussion! My DD's dogs are enormous and the male is very strong and absolutely decimates any chewy toy he has. We've tried toys that have been marketed as 'indestructible' including Kong but he destroys them in a matter of hours! He then tries to eat the plastic bits and bury the rest in his special burial spot in a big reed bed in the garden (we have an inkling that the local postman who didn't like dogs and who retired and hasn't been seen since is in there somewhere,,,,,). If there are any posters with big dogs who have found an actual 'indestructible' chewy toy, I would be grateful to know! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Well done on not taking scissors to the lights, tempting as it sounds. I expect retirement pot you thanks you! Is it a new series of masked singer starting? I watched it yonks ago and it is so ludicrous you can't help but get involved, they must have great fun in the production department coming up with the identities

SA, I'd forget where I put the Christmas tree, so I'd put a reminder in my online diary.
In doggy shenanigans, I took my dog and my sister's dog out yesterday afternoon (she's recovering from a spinal op). Her dog only cocked his leg and peed all down my dogs hind leg. I was livid. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3 -

Morning all, happy Sunday.
Woke up to a winter wonderland this morning as we have a light dusting of snow. It's more sleet now so hopefully it will clear up later. The pavements look very slippery so won't be venturing out until it's shifted.
DD has gone to work so I'll be able to give the kitchen and bathroom a good clean today. I'll also be able to clean out the fridge before she returns home and stocks it back up again. She pays board and buys her own food.
The new 4 week budget period starts tomorrow so have totted up final scores on the doors as nothing will be spent today. Overall there was a £128.21 underspend, it was looking to be more but had a couple of personal spends over the last couple of days, my slippers and gloves and Mr SA had a new phone case. £8.21 was sent to the Christmas pot, £50 to personal spends, £30 to the entertainment pot and £40 to the house/garden pot. An oddment of £4.97 was revealed in the current account so that's gone to the Christmas pot.
On the mortgage front, I now recall having to phone them when I couldn't set up the £100 overpayment online. I'm going to phone them tomorrow to up the overpayment to £150 a month to ensure it will be paid off by the end of the year.
Apart from cleaning today I need to do a meal plan for the week ahead and make a batch of spiced parsnip and carrot soup for work lunches. Really not looking forward to working a full week or trekking out to the office in the cold.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
Winter wonderland here in my area very picturesque.
Paying off the mortgage is fantastic, I am hoping to retire December 2027 or may stay in until the summer . Won’t get SP for another 2 years but hoping to fund those 2 years through savings .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3 -
We didn’t get out with the dog until 2.30 when the pavement had thawed. Wish we hadn’t bothered as it was drizzling and we got soaked. The dog wasn’t interested at all in going out and walked as slowly as possible in protest.Made the soup, quality tested a spoonful and it’s absolutely delicious. A great way to use up parsnips and carrots. Will share the recipe in my next post.Tonight’s dinner is harissa prawn orzo which I make on a regular basis as it’s so tasty. Both cats have had their flea treatment applied so are sulking. The dog needs a bath first so will put her in when I’ve had mine.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
