Morning all.
WFH today thank goodness so no taking chances with frosty pavements. I know I could catch the bus when the pavements are bad but it's a fair walk from my house to the bus stop then an even longer walk from the city centre stop to work and the worst bit for ice is the new fancy paving the council have put down that's unavoidable as it's in the area that leads up to the office. Yes it looks nice but is treacherous when it rains or is icy.
Money wise today will be NSD4 of January.
Exercise will be dog walking later this morning (hoping the path down to the park isn't icy), another new live lunchtime class strength training with weights and Zumba tonight.
Tonight's dinner is stir fry, a good way to use up any veg lurking in the fridge. I'm going to air fry some tofu to go with it which will use up something else from the freezer.
The vet wouldn't let me have another prescription for the dog's anti-inflammatories without seeing her as it's more than 6 months since they last saw her so I've made an appointment for Saturday. Fortunately DS will be here so I'll get a lift.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Fortunately the footpaths at home have mostly thawed out so we are ok for walking the dog.
The footpaths in the city near the office are terrible though. Just shear ice now that the snow is all compacted and there have been some minor thawing that has refrozen.
The car park here at the office is probably the worse bit of ice I am contending with at the moment!
It was -4 at home this morning when we left for work. It has warmed up to -1 here at the office. Thankfully the roads for the drive in are mostly all clear now.3 -
Those fancy paving slabs are so dangerous in this weather. Our village has some laid near the C00p with interesting village facts inscribed on some of them. I think they should take peoples safety more seriously. They have slippy ones at FP retail outlet as well, and they are bad even without ice.Making the debt go down and savings go up

That’s the first working week of January done ✔️
Worked in the office today and finished early afternoon. I’ve been super busy since Tuesday so it was a relief to log off. I’d be able to get on with my work if people stopped asking me questions 😆
Stopped off at Lid! on the way home for a few things.Today’s exercise was walking to/from work 20,325 steps. That will do for today no extras. The pavements were a lot better today once I got to the end of my road. Thankfully the fancy pavers in the city centre had been gritted.Tonight’s dinner is lightly dusted sweet chilli fish from freezer stocks with swede chips and steamed veg.Looking forward to a soak in the bath shortly.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

Happy Saturday 🥂
Good job it’s not a working day as I didn’t wake up until 6.45! I think I was making up the sleep I lost earlier in the week.I need to brace myself for going out in the frost with the dog soon 🥶 I’d like to go to the big Mr T but that will depend on how the pavements are as it’s downhill. The dog has a vet appointment this afternoon. The vet pot will take a hit as I need her arthritis prescription and her ear infection seems to have flared up again so will need more drops. Then I need to order the anti inflammatory tablets online. There’s plenty in the pot thankfully. Fortunately DIL is giving me a lift to the vets. The dog loves going in cars so she might not get so stressed, she hates going to the vet.Don’t let me forget it’s DD’s birthday tomorrow, I keep forgetting 😬 Must check I have a card for her. I got her an Amazon gift card for a present.Today’s exercise will just be walking I think.Pizza and Prosecco tonight.Must go in search of that birthday card …I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
hope your pavements were ok. Been bad all day down here, freezing fog that hasn't lifted and every tree is white with frost and ice everywhere. We went out about 11.30 and still showing -4 on the car thermometer. The poor women in the farm shop were wearing coats, hats, scarves and gloves. Not a job I would like. On the plus side, the fields looked lovelyMaking the debt go down and savings go up

The pavements weren’t too bad @Makingabobor2. It was very sunny and a balmy 1 degree 😆
Well the vet pot took a big hit at just over £200!! Finally got to the bottom of why the dog is forever biting her paws despite several vets saying there’s nothing wrong - she has a skin condition that’s become inflamed and will be irritating for her. She now has tablets for it plus ear drops for yet another ear infection plus the anti inflammatory prescription. Then I had to buy the tablets online. At least the flea and worm treatment is covered by the monthly vet plan. Oh and she needs to lose weight. Apart from all that the vet said she’s in good condition for an almost 13 year old, her heart is in great shape and she’s still very lively. I have to take her back at the end of the month so have combined that with the cat’s booster appointment.I took advantage of the 😗 🐟 11 cards for £10 offer this morning. Had to pay £3.75 P&P as didn’t want to spend another £15 to save £3.75. I looked but couldn’t see anything I needed. That’s this year’s birthday cards taken care of anyway and still great value.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
