Morning all.
WFH today, it's so nice not to be pounding the pavements on this cold and frosty morning.
I'm going to book next Friday off to do my Christmas shopping in the Black Friday sales. Not going to tell Mr SA it will be my secret shopping day. I certainly don't want him getting in everyone's way on his tank of a scooter. Not that I have a lot of presents to buy but it will be nice to have a wander around and pick up what I can. So the Christmas pot will finally be set free next week. It's also payday and I'll have my backdated to June pay rise as a bonus in my wages.
Today's exercise is dog walking this morning, doubt we'll be able to get on the park, people have complained to the council asking them to grit the path but not holding my breath for them to action this. Also a lunchtime full body toning class and strength training tonight.
Not a NSD as I had a small Mr M delivery this morning. I'm trialling splitting it into two smaller deliveries and it seems to be working better so far. It also means I can keep an eye on hitting the target spend for the current offer of £45 off the Christmas shop.
I need to remember to take out a portion of veg chilli from the freezer to have with sweet potato wedges tonight.

Think we have most of our Christmas shopping done and dusted. Might start wrapping this weekend.2

Just been out with the dog, it's absolutely freezing. The pavements have frozen over and quite treacherous. We couldn't get on the park as the path down to it is still frozen solid. Looking at the weather forecast it's going to snow again tonight so more snow on top of frozen snow is going to be a nightmare. Fortunately the forecast for the weekend is 16 degrees and raining so hopefully it will clear the snow and ice away. I dropped off a bag of bits at the charity shop while we were out.
I've warned work I might not make it into the office tomorrow if the pavements don't improve. I don't want this to be the third Christmas I've got a leg in plaster!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Absolutely don't go the office if it's still treacherous SA - as you say, plaster casts for party season again is NOT the vibe!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Definitely don't go out if its icy. You must be a lot further north than me than I thought you were. We had a bit of snow over night into Tuesday ,all cleared in about 2 hours. Yesterday and today, just frost and glorious sunshine, although its only reached 2c, but hoping the washing will dry in the sunshine.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Our garden is still white, @Sun_Addict. I.know I'm a little north of you, but it's not far as the crow flies. The snow has barely melted off the lawn.
Very icy. Thawed the bird bath 1st thing & it re-froze v quickly.

Morning all, happy Friday.
I've made it into the office. We had a bit of snowfall overnight but it had already started to thaw. I made it to the end of my road fine but when I turned the corner to walk down the hill towards the city centre the pavements were like a sheet of ice so I caught the bus. The pavements in the city centre were clear until I got closer to work where the pavements looked clear but were covered in black ice. People were sliding all over it was quite scary. The council put all these fancy paving slabs down but obviously don't think about what happens when they get icy or wet. It was like walking on an ice rink! Fortunately I've got snow boots on with decent grips so I managed to make it to the office without slipping. I decided to buy an all day bus ticket as I want to go to the Asd@ superstore to pick up the Lynx set for Mr SA for Christmas and I've seen a gaming Santa tree bauble I want to buy for DGS. The bus stop to there is right outside work so I might nip there this morning then come back to work rather than go after work with my heavy backpack on.
I always try to buy an appropriate bauble to attach to Christmas presents but often wondered if DS and family kept them or just threw them out. Apparently they don't they have every bauble I've ever bought them and decorate one of their Christmas trees with them.
I plan to walk home from work as I could do with stopping off at Lid!
