Happy Saturday 🥂
Mr SA made a right dog’s dinner of putting the curtain pole back up and it’s on a slant 😬 I’m going to ask DS to sort it out next time he comes. The dog is back to her normal lively self now thank goodness. I was about to book her a vet appointment when she suddenly perked up yesterday afternoon. No visitors today so will be a quiet weekend. Got plenty to do in the house so I won’t be bored 😆
Did a live ClubFit class this morning then walked down to Lid! I bought some tomato, French beans and mangetout plants plus some flexible gardening tubs to grow veg in. I’m already on 15,000 steps as it’s a long walk.Loads of snow fell from our roof and landed in the drive where it became compacted and frozen in a huge mound. Mr SA struggled to get his scooter out but we managed to push it out eventually. When we got back home I was just going in the front door when a huge dollop of snow slid off the roof and fell on my head. It was quite scary, I’m lucky it didn’t knock me out, it went down my back 🥶Thankfully it’s warmed up a lot and the snow is rapidly thawing. The roads and pavements are clear it just seems to be our drive that’s clinging onto it. It’s a beautiful sunny day so hopefully it will melt today. This afternoon will be dedicated to giving the kitchen a good clean, catching up on surveys and some Spanish learning.Tonight’s dinner is beetroot burger, wedges and salad. Rose cava is chilling in the fridge for later.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
Oh no to the snow landing on your head. Did it hurt? I’m hoping it just slid off and it was the surprise and the cold that was scary, nothing worse. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I think it was more of a shock than anything. I’m just glad it wasn’t the massive amount that fell from the roof yesterday. It did hurt because of the height it fell from. I had the dog in my arms and it shocked her too. We were both covered in snow.Just watched episode 1 series 3 of Happy Valley while Mr SA is having his siesta.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

The snow must have been a shock in several dimensions! Sudden, painful, cold.
I prescribe a nice hot bath and epsom salts.
Is there a way to dislodge any future heavy falls of snow from a safe distance?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Well the snow has completely disappeared now so no need to worry about further avalanches 😆 It’s a lovely sunny day and much warmer than it has been just lately.
Took the dog for a good run on the park this morning. She was so ready for it after being poorly. The park was like a mud bath now the snow has thawed.Mr SA is having his siesta but once he’s awake I will be giving upstairs a good clean. Did downstairs yesterday. This is how exciting my weekends are 😆 I feel like my life is just one long round of working during the week and cleaning at the weekends 😕
NSD 4 of March.I’m going to do a yoga session later and day 11 of the plank challenge.I feel like I should be making the most of the good weather and doing some gardening but I really don’t feel like it. The garden waste bin is full and I don’t want to plant seeds until we get back from holiday so there’s not that much to do. Might take the dog for another walk in a bit, get some fresh air and some steps clocked up.Tonight’s dinner is the last portion of the mushroom roast I made at Christmas with roast sweet potato and lots of veg. Mr SA is having pulled pork so that’s in the slow cooker. I also need to make a batch of soup for work lunches.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
Took the dog out again but she wasn’t interested because we weren’t going on the park. It amused passers by to see her point blank refuse to walk. I walked, Mr SA scooted with the dog on his knee, to a local high street slightly further away so clocked up over 16,000 steps. Mr SA complained about his back hurting the whole of the time we were out. He hurt it when he fell the other night. The pavements where we live are very uneven as they are tree lined and the tree roots are pushing the paving up so it wasn’t a smooth ride for him.Did a FitOn stretching session when I got back home plus the plank challenge.I made chilli bean soup from a recipe in my Vegetarian Students cookbook I’ve had for many years. It made 5 portions so that’s me sorted all week for work lunches.6 weeks today we’ll be in Lanzarote 😎I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

That holiday seems to be coming around quickly 😀3

That's Monday done.
Worked in the office today, was going to finish early but logged back on at home for an hour.
It's very windy today and keeps raining too. Got quite wet walking to walk but managed to avoid the rain on the way back home.
Aiming for a steps target of 20,000 today, not far off that now thanks to walking to/from work.
Have done my Monday finances check and have sent some oddments to catch up with the 1p savings challenge. I cashed out £9.54 in survey money yesterday, just short of my target £10 a week.
Not a NSD as needed to go to Lid! on the way home.
Tonight's dinner is soy salmon with sweet and sour aubergine. This is a recipe I haven't tried before from one of my WW cookbooks. Yes I have an aubergine to use up 😆 I'm on a mission this week to use up what I have in stock or at least make inroads into it.
Still to do:
Ironing
Spanish lessons
Surveys
Finalise tomorrow's Mr M online shop
Mop kitchen and bathroom floorsI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6
