I'm another HM soup fan - for some reason it generally works for me. I think I started when DD was at toddler group and they made a vegetable soup which she adored - just a few veg sauteed in butter, add stock or water and simmer for a bit.
I do seem to have a freezer dominated by stacks of curried parsnip soup at the moment - Dh doesn't like parsnips so they are all mine. Another favourite is lentil and chorizo.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

One of my favourites is lentil & tomato from the old Cranks cookbook - also their cream of broccoli.

When I make soup it tends to be left over either home made spaghetti or curry whizzed with passata added plus anything left in the fridge that needs using stirfried then whizzed & added. Water from the kettle added to the empty/dirty whizzer added, but not much. We like our soup so that the spoon stands up in it, well I do DS doesn't really get a choice. Sometimes with additional seasoning. I have found the higher the seasoning the less I can eat, so (permanent) diet wise seasoning is good.

That's Monday done.
Worked in the office this morning then from home this afternoon. I wasn't really feeling the love for work this morning.
Nipped into Lid! on the way home for some bread rolls for Mr SA's lunches.
New 4 week budget period starts today. I have an overall underspend across all spending pots of £111.78, some of this has been sent to the 1p savings challenge pot to catch up on the last 4 days and an oddment has gone to the Christmas pot. The remainder has been sent to the general spends pot.
£300 sent to the YBS Christmas Saver and £125 to the Principality RS. Still need to send something to the Cov RS by the 20th of the month.
Today's exercise is walking to/from work plus a 24 mins FitOn HIIT Arms & Abs at 5pm. Will end the day on 20,000 steps or thereabouts.
Tonight's dinner is chickpea, tomato and spinach curry left over from Saturday.

Morning, happy Tuesday.
WFH today thank goodness. I had just settled down with a coffee and my book at 6am when the Mr M delivery arrived. Typical! Thankfully no missing items or subs and I had a £2 off fruit and veg voucher. It was all packed away by 6.30.
The dog was up 4 times in the night to go out so suspect she may have a dodgy tummy. She seems fine otherwise though.
Got a busy day at work today, lots of random totally unrelated things on my list to work through. Also have a lengthy meeting this afternoon I'm minute taker at. At least the day will fly by.
Today's exercise will be walking to the local high street this morning to drop off a bag of books at the charity shop. Been meaning to do this for ages and the bag is getting fuller by the week. Plus a lunchtime live bums & tums class and resistance bands tonight.
Torn between two new recipes for tonight's dinner, I was originally making Somerset veg sausage from the PON Enjoy cookbook then I received an email this morning from PON with a Chicken Kyiv Pasta Bake which I like the look of - minus the chicken of course. It would use up a leek and some mushrooms that need using. Decisions, decisions 😆 Whatever I don't make today I'll make tomorrow.
I also need to give the kitchen and bathroom a good clean after work.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Another fan of home made soup here too, although I don't get around to making it all that often. Any surplus of butternut squash or parsnips tends to end up in a big pan of soup though! My favourite bought soup is T's own brand lentil and bacon which is delicious.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Love that you get up so early and have your delivery done & dusted by breakfast. I might try that. I normally go for a 9am slot so I can be dressed, and tidied kitchen up, but early sounds a better idea TBH, especially with the light mornings coming. Need to try and get a delivery from Mr S for tomorrow or Friday if I can.Making the debt go down and savings go up

That's Wednesday almost done.
I've been in the office this morning and left at lunchtime to finish up at home. When I came out of the office main door I was hit by an arctic blast of wind brr. It has been trying to snow although not very successfully.
The dog still has an upset tummy so will see how she goes today. I'm going to steam a bit of chicken for her tonight. I was a bit annoyed by Mr SA this morning as I had 4 missed calls on my phone from him, phoned him back to listen to his incoherent babbling about the dog. I thought something terrible had happened but once he calmed down it turned out he'd been consulting Dr Google about the dog and had decided she had something stuck in her stomach! She has a bit of a dodgy tummy that's all, she's fine otherwise!
Money wise I've sent £5.20 to the Christmas pot and added some more to keep up with the 1p savings challenge. It's been a spends day as I had to pop into Lid! on the way home for bread, cat food and chicken for the dog.
Exercise is walking to/from work and a live Zumba class at 6pm.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of veg chilli from the freezer with sweet potato wedges. The PON pasta bake I made last night was absolutely delicious, the recipe is here I made it minus the chicken and made two portions, I've put one in the freezer.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
