I think a Costa/Greggs trip may be on the horizon to pacify Mr SA!
Good idea to look at paint 'in person' rather than online. I hope you find just the right thing. Having seen a friend's house with some dramatic dark walls offsetting bright modern art, I am in the mood for paint buying myself - though I still have some second coats to do which I keep putting off.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Glad the work is all starting. I hope you survived heading to B&Q on your own without a man to tell you what you need."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2

Thank you all 🤣 I hate going in BnQ with a passion. However I was in and out in 5 minutes because their choice of paint colours was abysmal unless I went down the mixing your own colour route.
Went straight into BnM and they had the colours I wanted and the brand I wanted (Johnstone’s) at a very reasonable price indeed. Also picked up a new lampshade for the dining room while I was there. Managed to manhandle 6 2.5 litre pots of paint, the lampshade and a couple of other things onto the bus home in a series of carrier bags. Mr SA met me at the bus stop so I could put the bags on his scooter. When I got home realised the lampshade was exactly the same one as I have in the living room 😆
Moved my desk into the living room, getting there slowly with emptying the dining room. The CS picked the weights up so that’s another thing gone. At least the refurb is forcing me to have a good declutter.Decided to WFH tomorrow instead of trying to make it into the office, I need to be at home. The builder wanted my opinion on something earlier and Mr SA has admitted he doesn’t feel confident about making decisions.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Mr F always leaves decisions on paint colours to me. He says that every time he's been unsure about a colour I've chosen, he's ended up loving it, especially the aubergine! (though I expect it was actually called something like 'Plumly delicious' or 'Blackcurrant taffeta').

SA, you might want to stock up on Prosecco before the budget. The tax on wine will change from its current one set rate to a sliding scale of probably 6 levels depending on the abv of the wine. Although Prosecco is fairly low on the abv scale. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?2
