Thank you! It looks really tasty. I'll save it as I have several portions of soup already for this week but I remember you'd mentioned it before and I thought I'd like to try it. Now I have that chance!

  • Do you have a spare fifty quid for a charity shop bike for Mr SA 😂
Though having said that, is there an exercise bike in your spare room you could proudly present to him as he's so into cycling now but obviously as a cyclist he knows he needs to prep in a stationary manner

Morning all, halfway through the week already!

In the office today, it’s very quiet again. I’m sat on a row of 5 desks all to myself. Going to do 6 hours here then finish up at home.

Have done a quick mid week finances check and paid off the cc balance.

Today’s exercise is walking to/from work and Zumba at 6.

Tonight’s dinner is an old favourite harissa prawn orzo.

The thought of Mr SA causing mayhem on the roads on a bike has just made me chuckle out loud. I can just imagine it now  :D

Reminding him about the exercise bike sounds like a good idea if he has bikes on the mind at the minute. Anything to get him doing something each day.

We've been down the use the exercise bike to strengthen your legs road many many times over the years. His response is always yes I'm going to, but he never does. One of the parts of his brain that's damaged is the area that controls motivation - he has none whatsoever.

Mr SA's hare brained scheme no 2 has surfaced in that he's thinking about booking an all inclusive long weekend abroad for my birthday and he's been looking on his phone all morning. Yes it would be nice but other things take priority at the moment and his idea of "just bunging it on the credit card" is a throwback to his pre-illness days as this is exactly what he would've done.

The ironic thing is that he rang me at work to inform me of his latest idea when I was listening to a WW lunchtime talk on stress and how to alleviate it when his call over-rode the talk in my headphones. The cause of all my stress right on cue!

I'm back at home now and he's sulking about me putting my foot down on the holiday. I wish he'd find something to occupy himself other than watching TV and scrolling on his phone. It's not just the cost of a few days abroad, which incidentally is no cheaper than going for a week, it's the spending money, scooter hire, etc.

    And breathe...
