Her next appointment is for the pre-op so that's what she's waiting for currently. The likelihood is the actual op won't be before we go. It's too late to move the holiday date to next year now, I'd lose the full amount so the only option is cancellation should her op date come up in the next 4 weeks. Of course the next hurdle is Mr SA's chest X-ray in a couple of weeks as we don't know what that will throw up, hopefully nothing though. We just need to wait it out and see what happens. I wish I'd never booked this holiday now, although obviously I didn't know what was going to happen when I booked it last year.
@PennysIntoPounds yes I've got the forms to fill in and post, going to go back to postal voting altogether as I'm likely to forget when I have to physically go to the polling station. I forgot about the recent local ones although it was in the midst of the stress with Mr SA and DD being in hospital so hardly surprising it wasn't on my radar.
@Cherryfudge no I definitely haven't booked any more holidays. We will no doubt be going back to Lanzarote next April though for Mr SA's 60th as that's his favourite place.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

I assume your DD is going to be off work for a while?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hope Dd gets her op soon and makes a quick recovery. It’s definitely a dilemma about whether or not to book a holiday when there’s so much going on with hospitals.January spends - £587.582

I didn’t think I’d get my bite sized gardening session in today with the rain but the sun came out briefly so dashed outside to remove the trimmings from the wheelbarrow into the newly emptied garden waste bin. Also built a wigwam out of canes for the sweet peas inspired by @redofromstart’s gardening thread. Mr SA ‘helped’ by topping the pond up with water but neglected to actually put the end of the hosepipe into the pond so flooded the patio 😬 And last but not least picked a few more home grown mangetout and sugar snap peas to add to my stir fry tonight.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Afternoon all.
Went back to the office today. It was so good to get out of the house for the day even if it was to work!
Had a free coffee from Caffe Nero courtesy of the Octopus app. Realised where I sit at work the window overlooks one of their offices. I have noticed the Octopus signs on this particular building before but thought it was just adverts. So I was able to raise my free coffee to them from my window seat 😆
Paid in Mr SA's two Motability cheques on the way home.
Also stopped off at Lid! to pick up the free avocados. Spent £1.24 in there on bread rolls and olives and now have a free pineapple or mango to pick up. Annoyingly the app has started playing up whenever I go in there and I have to sign in to my account. It never used to do this. I checked it before I left work and it was fine then.
The water butt has arrived and oh my days it's enormous!! It will take some rain to fill it 😆
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work just over 20,000 steps plus a Zumba session at 6pm.
Making a veggie chilli for tonight's dinner with sweet potato wedges.

That sounds like a great day. I must, must upgrade my phone so I can get the Lil app back!2

It's good that DD has a diagnosis now and presumably she can adjust her diet to reduce the risk of a flare up before her op. She could also use the time ahead of the op to build up her strength and immunity to help speed up her recovery.

I think L!dl must have heard me moaning that all their special things were unhealthy - you got avocados and I've just had a coupon for a choice of free peppers or free lemons, so I'm very much proved wrong.
I can see you in my mind's eye raising your coffee cup to the people in the Octopus building. Methinks there's potential for a sitcom based on that and their response!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Morning all.
WFH today, enjoyed not having to rush and reading my book with a coffee. I will appreciate this time more now I'm going back into the office.
Mr SA has just got up, it's far too early for him, going to be a long long day 😞
The young cat has caught a bird and tried to bring it in the house. Sadly it already looks deceased.
It should be a NSD today as we don't need anything.
Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning, a lunchtime Yogilates session and Zumba at 5.30.
Tonight's dinner is fish pie with celeriac mash.
And some good news on the money front - finally cashed out £50 from YG 😁🎉
