DD is back and she needs to have her gallbladder removed. She’s signed the consent form and is waiting for a pre op date. I can’t see us getting on this holiday to be honest. We probably won’t know until the last few days one way or the other.

Gall bladder is not a bad recovery if its keyhole but when you've no idea on dates I understand why you don't want to chance being away.

Its a touch call as holidays are precious too.

At least you know in advance which is good. Hope she gets a date just after your holidays.

Hopefully once that's done, she can have a better quality of life.

A friend was able to take a slot for a cancelled operation just last week - is it worth your daughter seeing if this could work for her? It cut his waiting time drastically and he's now on the road to recovery. I'm thinking it saves the tension of waiting and might also give you peace of mind about your holiday were she able to have her op early.

And did you say you've booked your spring holiday, or am I imagining that?

Hopefully that will be done by keyhole, @Sun_Addict. I'm no expert, but as the owner of a naughty gallstone which I've been told will only ever be exiting via surgery, I looked into the procedure a few years ago just in case. Nobody really welcomes surgery, but it must be a relief for your daughter finally to have got some answers about what was making her so poorly. Hope it can be done sooner rather than later so that she can concentrate on recovery.

I had a cancellation slot, but it still took 3 months. I don't know what your waiting times are there, but could be worth asking.

I felt almost back to normal after two weeks. Mine was keyhole and my wounds are healing well.

Hopefully you still get to go on your holiday x
