My heart goes out to you.As you know I deal with it 24/7 and most people, thankfully, have no idea what it's like dealing with the constant calls for attention, tears and tantrums.I'm hoping that the OT has already set things in motion before they actually bring him home. There seems to be lots of Pie Crust Promises made just to get people out of the hospital bed!Hope DD is also OK. Things have been rough(er) for you recently. (((hugs))) XXXI Believe.....

I hope you get more support now both the patients are being discharged. I would also say I don't know how you do it but I would think that would be annoying as what choice do you have. I think you are amazing anyway. Hope the SIL butts out and really cannot understand why she cannot come over and visit Mr SA to give you respite every now and again if she does not live a long way away and can drive.

I think a falls service, even a paid for one, would be worth thinking about. It's difficult moving a big tall heavy person, & of course when they are on the floor, gravity is working against you too. Mr F has a tendency to faint at the sight of blood (only his own!) & I always think that if he fainted onto the floor, I wouldn't even be able to get him into recovery position. It's difficult with these big guys. I am sending you positive vibes & virtual gin....whatever it takes to get you through the next couple of days. It's been a difficult time for you, that's for sure.

Hope the return home goes relatively smoothly, and that you are finally getting some support."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2

In the nicest way, I'm sorry they couldn't stay just a day or two longer, not poorly of course just recovering a bit more along with your sanity.
As best you can, cut yourself a little slack this week x3 -
Take care of yourself first. The patients will survive if they have to wait a while but will be in serious trouble if you fall apart. No I am not wishing it on you but no one is indestructable and you have so much to cope with at the best of time. I would also suggest a couple of work free days as I suspect Mr SA may need? want a lot of attention and if he doesnt you can relax a little.A falls service would be a good idea even if you have to pay for it.Sending you virtual hugs and a couple of large gins.5

Well that’s one wounded soldier returned from the battlefield. Mr SA arrived home about 30 minutes ago. He thought it was 7am rather than 7pm and asked for toast and coffee. Unfortunately no bread until tomorrow as I don’t eat it. I did have milk in case DD came home at the weekend. He ended up with a ham and cheese baguette as I had some of those part baked ones in stock.Red Cross delivered a commode shortly before he arrived.SIL isn’t happy about him being discharged without me getting a stair lift fitted despite him passing the stairs test 😐
No sign of DD but she wasn’t holding her breath about coming home today.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Oh and today turned out to be a NSD.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Glad he is home as at least you won’t have to visit. Whilst SIL is being a concerned sister…..would it be worth asking her to keep him company every couple of weeks whilst you get out by yourself and tell her that is what you both need more than a stairlift?January spends - £587.585
