Main question on Mr S A coming home is - is he fully mobile and can he cope with stairs unassisted? If they are hesitant about either of those things, then it may need to be made very clear to them that sending him home with be compromising both his and your safety. (It may also delay things if you were "unable" to get there with clothes and to accompany him home, of course...)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I agree that it sounds very soon for him to be coming home.
Before discharge you will need to know - what are the results of his various tests? What is his plan to re-mobilise him eg physio's assessment. What medication? What monitoring and following up. Ask the doctor who is discharging what effect MrSA's other health conditions have had on the discharge plan and package. You might not to be assertive but it's better for him, you, emergency services and the hospital not to have another emergency admission.

I'm definitely going to make sure they know about the stairs. I know what he's like and he'll say anything to get out including that he'll stay in bed if discharged. I've made him aware I can't just drop everything and rush over to pick him up.
Spoke to DD and there is a very slight possibility she might be coming home today too. If they do discharge her she's going to mention that she may be coming home to someone with a chest infection that's turned to pneumonia and is it safe for her. She has had another blood transfusion overnight. She also has a scan tomorrow so would be a lot better all round if she stayed in. She said on Friday there's going to be a meeting to look at her scan results and plan of action going forward.
Next door have builders in, looks like the living room is being refurbished. They're drilling and banging which is making the dog bark.
Went over to the park and the litter was anywhere near as bad as I feared, just a few pop cans, sweet wrappers and chip papers. I went over there armed with two bin bags.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
I hope the hospitals make the right decision for both of them (and for you!) and don't rush to discharge before they should.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

@Sun_Addict - That was what was worrying me, that in wanting to be let out asap, Mr SA might embellish his mobility skills, including stair climbing. They defo need to know that he has falls on a normal day with no breathing problems to throw into the mix. Hope the right decisions are made.

The ward nurse has just called to confirm that Mr SA doesn't use stairs. Apparently he told them he doesn't use the stairs at home! I told her he most certainly does as we don't have a downstairs bathroom and he sleeps upstairs. The crafty devil! I told her he's trying anything to get home even putting himself in danger. He now has to have a stairs assessment with the physio before he can be discharged.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)11

Well done for telling them the truth. He needs to be safe and well enough to come home.1

I knew it, the crafty devil! Good job the nurse checked with you, @Sun_Addict. The hospital set of 'practise stairs' will doubtless be coming out now.

Oh my word. Good job they called to confirm it. I think if he was desperate to get to the bathroom & with not being able to breathe so well/coughing a lot....well its just a recipe for disaster.Making the debt go down and savings go up
