Yes - such a relief. He is a crafty so-and-so! Mind you, they know he has had brain seizures - why on earth do they not speak to you first before they make these decisions?🤦♀️

The nurse has just called and he's failed the stairs test. She says he's not fit for discharge. When he is discharged he'll have a care package in place and a home assessment.
He's not very with it either and has started ringing me on my work number over and over. I knew he'd be difficult about this.
I'm going to log off in a minute and set off for the hospital.
I managed to clear out the drawers of doom. I found 9 empty lip balms, 7 watches (bearing in mind he's just had a new one for his birthday), 5 ancient mobiles, 2 kindles, several sweets stuck to the bottom of the drawer I had to prise off with a wallpaper stripping knife and 4 wallets!
I feel more stressed than ever now!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Could be a blessing in disguise that he failed the stairs test. At least they will have to seriously look at getting him more care, and he may not have any say over it. It may be a big help to you in the long run..Making the debt go down and savings go up

Well thank goodness for that - and there's a surprise too, eh!
I suggest that when you are there, you ask for a chat with the ward manager to ensure that they know that he will indeed tell lies about his capabilities, and also the frequency of his falls and anything else you think it might be helpful if someone else knew, too. That way it should get put on his notes so that other members of staff are aware that they really must be checking with you before making decisions about him. (It's tricky if he is deemed to have capacity though, which I assume he is?)
Well done on drawer clearing though. You might want to stash those mobiles aside for the next time he wants a new one, mind you... ;-)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I know when they discharged my husband after his open heart surgery he had to do the stairs test even though we have a downstairs and upstairs bathroom so I am glad they made Mr SA do one. As you say he was obviously fibbing to get home. That could be a disaster though as he obviously cannot move quickly meaning loads of clearing up accidents for you. I suggest you make sure when he goes into hospital they know to check with you first before doing any discharges.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Hospital visit done. I walked there and got the bus back as it actually turned up this time.Mr SA has been moved to a different ward. He’s really not well and is very confused and keeps being sick. There is no way he was well enough to come home and even he has admitted that. The nurse brought me a pack of wet wipes and a pad and asked me to clean up Mr SA!! Never been asked to do that before. I said I’m not doing it without gloves so she got me some 😐 It was really difficult as he can barely move and he’s so heavy. I don’t think I made a very good job of it 😬
Got home too late to do my Zumba class 🙁 Had plenty of exercise walking anyway. Took just under an hour to walk to the hospital and 20 minutes from the bus stop to home.No sign of DD so she must be staying in another night. I can’t believe how poorly they both are!Need to sort something out for dinner. Not really hungry to be honest.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)10
