I haven’t been around for a few days and came on to hear about your Dd. I’m pleased they haven’t found anything serious and she has an appetite. I really feel your pain as several years ago my Dd was rushed in with internal bleeding. She was in the South of the country and I’m in the North West. I couldn’t settle until I saw with my own eyes how she was and then hated leaving her when I had to come home. Won’t be long now until you can get to see her and the furries.I’m pleased Mr SA was oblivious to it all and managed to enjoy his birthday…..he wouldn’t have given you a minutes peace had he not settled into his usual holiday routine.

I'd lay it on thick with the July holiday providers, stressing how many times you have given them your custom, and that if they can't accommodate your very reasonable request then it will be the last time you give them your hard earned money. Oh and that you work with xxxx thousands of people and will be passing on your negative experience. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?2

Morning all 🙂
Slept well last night. Mr SA didn’t get his birthday fish and chips he had steak and Canarian potatoes which he enjoyed. He doesn’t usually have steak on holiday as he doesn’t have the grip to cut it and gets embarrassed that I have to cut it for him. Anyway I cut it up for him and he enjoyed it. I had ratatouille but there was far too much food for me I could only eat half of it. The waiter thought I didn’t like it and I had to explain it was delicious just far too much of it. I’m still full now 😆
Our last day today we leave tomorrow lunchtime. I’ll be glad to get back home. We haven’t been to half the places we usually do, it’s been a strange week.Yesterday I saw a woman in a bar I thought I recognised and couldn’t place her. Then I realised it was someone in the resort FB group who comes here a lot and posts lots of photos - spotted in real life 😆I don’t know what to do about the July holiday yet @satchmo1. I’ll give it a couple of weeks before I make a decision, see how well DD recovers and how she feels about being left. I’m sure they’ll move it to next year if need be, I know people who have done this. If DD isn’t well I should be able to cancel and claim off the insurance with a doctors letter.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

Advice please. How much is a reasonable amount to give DS for his petrol and help. I’m completely out of the loop with petrol prices. They live about 20 miles away so 40 miles petrol x 5 days. He doesn’t want anything but I’m going to insist. I want to cover petrol costs and give him something to treat them all. I’m thinking the petrol cost plus £100 extra for a treat. What would the petrol cost?Thank you.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Depends on his car. However when I did that journey for work it wasn't far off a tank so about £702

25p per mile is my rough calculator as it is a fairly standard amount for companies to pay to those who have a car allowance. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thank you both that gives me a better idea.DD might be coming home this afternoon which is brilliant news. She’s not happy as she wants to stay there. She doesn’t like being in the house on her own. I told her it’s only for one night.Have been out for a coffee and a bit of present shopping. That turned into lunch in the cheap and cheerful but very nice bar. Mr SA had a large beer and a pizza for €6.50 which is brilliant. I had 2 slices as still no appetite so no point ordering food when I wouldn’t be able to eat it. I did eat the fruit in my sangria though 😆

Oh and I’ve finally bought myself a bag. Been looking at this particular one all week. Took €100 from survey money to treat myself and only bought some earrings for €4 so far.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8
