DD is safely installed on a proper ward now. She’s saying she’s hungry so I suppose that’s a good sign. It’s weird but I briefly woke up in the early hours of this morning feeling really anxious and couldn’t understand why. Little did I know.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9

Hi SA - nightmare about your poor DD -
i can understand the utter anxiety and dread you are feeling now. Especially as my closest family live 24hr flight/layover away and my DF had a heart attack 3 weeks ago. I was hovering ready to purchase my flight tickets & told work I would have to go no matter what. But my DF before he went into surgery told my DM that I was not to fly over and that was his very firm foot put down.
he was right as mere days later he was home and back to behaving like a man much younger than his 81 years. The advice you’ve had is very good - relax lots of deep slow breaths - you are a mere 4hr flight away from home. See what outcomes of the scope - and know your DD is in a place of safety and has family around her who will keep you informed.Big hugs - try to enjoy yourself - it’s hard to do that I know - but you making yourself sick with worry won’t actually help anyone xx take care xx 🥰Lancashire

Normal ward and being hungry is brilliant. There will be things to manage soon but she's safe and okay. Get some grub in you x3

DS has just sent me a photo of the dog asleep on his sofa wrapped in her beloved throw. That’s made me feel a bit easier. I can’t wait to see her again. We’re just going to go somewhere cheap and cheerful tonight. I still don’t have an appetite so no point paying out for expensive food that I won’t eat. There has been no one on reception here all day today, good job no one needs anything. Last year there were a couple of older blokes who were really friendly and helpful.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Oh SA I am so sorry to hear about your dd but glad that she is being cared for and in the right place. The dog is happy with your ds and the cats will I am sure be fine.My advice forget the wine and go for the gin. Try to relax a little and even if you flew home there is nothing you can do that isnt already being done except possibly cleaning and its not worth cutting your holiday short to do that.Sending big virtual hugs.5

SA I’m so sorry to hear this if anyone deserves a holiday you do what a shame you have had this worry but as everyone else has said your daughter is in the best place and the little dog is settled please don’t think about coming home to clean up that can wait it’s not important you are get a meal a good drink and some sunshine honestly if I could get to your house I would go and stay there look after the animals and clean up I know it’s easier said than done but please try and relax huge hugs 🥰8

It’s a relief to know your dog is calm and happy. Dogs are like babies, whereas cats are like teenagers. They will probably be happy to go inside tomorrow after a little sulk. We feel such responsibility for our furry children. When MrWW was in hospital with an injury I was pacing the ward desperately wanting to get him out quickly because dog had been on her own for 8 hours. It’s an awful helpless feeling being where you should be instead of where your heart wants to be. I hope you are feeling more settled now you know everyone is safe and being looked after as well as possible. MrSA’s obliviousness is nice for him, but terribly hard on you.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
