I have cut out quite a few recipes from Waitrose mags & their free weekend paper. One I particularly like is a bean burger with a very summery chunky salsa-type roast veg topping, but their recipes are quite varied - something for pretty much everyone.

Two sad things about today. First thing was when I was waiting at the vets for the flea treatment to be brought out to me, a vet came out of one of the rooms and lit the candle on reception which means someone is saying goodbye to their pet 😢 It really upset me and brought tears to my eyes. So very sad.

Then I bumped into a neighbour who told me the sad news her 13 year old granddaughter took her own life a year ago. I remember seeing her visiting when she was a bit younger and playing in the garden. She said she’d been meaning to catch me to tell me but is still getting her head around coming to terms with it. Such a tragic waste of a young life.

  • Those are two very sad things indeed. 13 years old, bejesus. Hope you have a lovely evening enjoying all the things that we can enjoy while we can x

Awful about the granddaughter, so young.  Lovely of the vet as well,  they put a picture of a rainbow/candle on the door at ours.
