I have thought for a while that when I pop my clogs it will be as a result of a fall.

I finished work at 1.30 and picked up the free paper from W@itr0se before heading to Lid!. There was an unplanned but positive spend of £19.99 on a new steamer as mine is well past its best. The new one is more compact which is better for me. They only had one left so looks like it’s been popular. That’s about all, just sitting with my feet up watching TV with the dog snoring by my side 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

I was in L!dl this evening as well - not your one obviously. Following all the discussion on those lovely herbs, ours this week has trays of three smaller ones which are I think £4.99 for the three. Rosemary, thyme and sage in the ones I saw. They were nice, sturdy little plants.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I'm very happy for all you Lidllers and not at all reading these comments thoroughly jealous and put out that my local one has closed. I could really do with some rosemary, too! 😂2

I got a rosemary plant quite a few years ago from lidl, 2.99, planted it out in the garden, within three years it was taller than a metre and as wide..It actually grew so big so fast I had to dig it up again...You can take a cutting of sage just like you would rosemary or stick it in water. I broke some off by accident from mine last year, stuck the pieces in the ground, they all took, so I have three future sage bushes, which I'm quite pleased about
The mediterranean herbs do well in poor soil, not a lot of water and full sun, basil needs more water obviously as it's a floppy herb not like rosemary, or thyme...You will need to harden off the thyme if you're going to plant it out but i did see a thin about taking a stem, stripping the bottom leaves, sticking in a glass of water for two weeks...

Herbs do root well in water. I have a couple of old bottles which I kept for this purpose - also geraniums.

Ooh thank you for all the herb inspiration 🙂 My three babies have been enjoying the sun today 😆
Another unexpected free Saturday as DS and the GKs cancelled again due to illness. I wish they’d let us know the day before or at least earlier in the day as we had planned our day around their visit 😐Anyway, did a ClubFit class this morning followed by a trip to the biggish Mr T for soft plastic recycling. I’d been eyeing up a scarf in there waiting for it to go down to half price and today was the day 🥳
Took the dog on the park on the way back.As today’s plans were cancelled and the weather was beautiful, I spent some time in the garden tidying up. It’s already looking a lot better. Also pegged out some washing. It has felt very spring like today ☀️
Finally bought a heated propagator this morning, it’s arriving tomorrow so will get some seeds started off. I’ve been thinking about getting one for a couple of years. I usually wait until we come back from our April holiday to sow seeds but that’s too late really so determined to start early this year. DD will water them while we’re away. I sowed sweet peas last October and they’re doing well in the greenhouse. Get me channeling my inner Alan Titchmarsh 🤣
Went to the local DIY store for some tacks for the shed roof but got the wrong ones so Mr SA ended up exchanging them. He still maintains they’re not 100% right but they’ll do apparently.Finished reading The Last Resort by Heidi Perks - so good and kept me guessing right up to the last few pages.Tonight’s dinner is cauliflower and lentil curry from freezer stocks. I was going to make one but determined to use stocks up.Prosecco has been chilling in the fridge since first thing ready for tonight 🥂
WW are doing an open day next Thursday at 29th all live classes are free to anyone so will share the link when available in case anyone wants to do a free Zumba, chair Pilates, body conditioning, mindfulness or cook along class.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Forgot to say we seem to have been targeted by black and white cats. There was one in the garden earlier hassling the young cat that didn’t run off when I opened the door then a different one appeared shortly afterwards peering through the patio doors.Mr SA has just requested beer with the reasoning that he was possibly the only man in England and Scotland watching the rugby without a drink - any excuse 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Glad you've had a nice time in the garden.

Happy new scarf day.
Love Mr SA's reasoning.
And on the subject of herbs: my old sage bush snapped in a storm over winter and I don't think it will regenerate. I stuck the younger shoots in a jam jar and now have the beginnings of more sage bushes than I know what to do with! Years ago I used to sell seeds on 3bay (I stopped because I couldn't export them and was getting requests from abroad): maybe I need to give some thought to raising a few pennies from these rather than leaving them in water forever!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living.
