I think I should have a pester pot for Mr LH. Unfortunately his pesters are somewhat more expensive than a bum bag. His latest is a dash cam which has suddenly become vital. No idea why as  he does less than 4000 miles a year.
At least Mr SA's pesters are fairly cheap nowadays. When he was working he would've come up with something like Mr LH's pester regardless of whether we could afford it.

I remember deliberately damaging a hideous pair of school shoes because I wanted new ones. I was about 14 & had already tried losing them & refusing to wear them. I would say that's a pretty standard manoeuvre when trying to wangle a new item, lol.

  • Ha - every time one of those meetings comes along you say you'd rather not and then always end up enjoying it!

I also remember trying the "it got damaged" approach with an item of clothing I didn't like as a child. It didn't - as I had hoped - get replaced. It got safety-pinned back together very noticeably and I had to continue wearing it. I was never fool enough to try THAT trick again!

  • Definitely sounds like MR SA damaged his bag on purpose just to get a new one. The devious part of his brain is obviously still working ok.
