I worked in a care home and every February our boss had to waste money on stuff we didn't need to use the budget or for the next year it would be cut and we wouldn't be able to get things we did need. I am not thinking that a huge build up should happen but money should be allowed to be ring fenced for say 12months. I worked with people who often damaged things either accidentally or deliberately and it would have been much easier if we had some leeway.2

Happy Saturday 🥂
Our local council are obviously spending their remaining budget too as both of the local volunteer groups I’m involved with have just received decent donations from them.
Did my ClubFit class this morning then went to the biggish Mr T. Mr SA and the dog came with me so the dog got a walk out of it. Mr T was really busy - why oh why do elderly people do their shopping on a Saturday when they’ve had all week to do it 😖
Used my MnS voucher online and have bought a jacket. Got 15% off and also used a £2 voucher so only had to put £4 towards it. Picking it up on Monday. Hopefully it looks as nice on as it looks on the website. I’m quite fussy about coats so we shall see.DS and the GKs haven’t been as the car is in for repair so just having a pottering about afternoon, getting a few bits of housework done.Tonight’s dinner is veggie burger, wedges and salad. Also going to make a fish pie for tomorrow as the fish pie mix goes out of date today. Bought a bag of reduced price chopped Swede from Mr T so going to cook that for the mash topping. Will save me a job tomorrow anyway.Rose cava is in the fridge for tonight.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

The elderly folk may well not be retired these days SA - or could be taking on a childcare role during the week. I do sympathise thought - it’s one thing I love about shopping on a Friday as a rule, it’s usually fairly quiet!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I confess I went to the sm this morning! In my defence it was only for some milk and I was in and out pretty quickly. I actually had to pick up my prescription and get something for Mr LH that he needed for today.1

My mum struggled to walk as far as the supermarket so used to wait for us to take her on a Saturday.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0

I’m talking about very elderly people 80 plus with walking frames on their own or as a couple and getting a fair bit of shopping not just the odd thing. Great for them they’re getting out but why not go when it’s quiet. I have an elderly neighbour whose grandson takes her there on Saturdays and I understand that reasoning.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

It is frustrating I know when you are working all week to see elderly people shopping Saturdays but some rely on family to drive them there and they can only do that weekends. If they are on frames they will have needed someone to bring them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
