Carrots and Swede last a fair amount of time I find, well over a week.Makingabobor2 said:Ooh thanks for the tip about the air fryer recipes. I will try and get it downloaded.
I was thinking of going to Mr M's tomorrow as it’s our closest supermarket, and they have veg at 19p if you scan your More card. Will be a lot cheaper than going to the veg man at the garden centre on Saturday, as he is bound to have put up his prices for Christmas, and Mr M veg is normally very fresh. Just not sure it would keep fresh till next Monday. But maybe I could cook the carrots/swede and freeze it once I've mashed it? Anyone ever tried that? Will have to read up on par boiling and freezing etc, never tried it before.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
Yes, swede always lasts well, but I never find carrots do so well, same as parsnip. I put carrot and parsnip in the frisge, but not swede. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. Our kitchen gets quite warm thoughSun_Addict said:

Aldi cabbage said 19p but went through at 15p. I wonder if it was 19p if there was no 15p supermarket locally.

I’m really proud of myself tonight because I fitted the new toilet seat after watching a YT tutorial. Mr SA had a go and failed, I did it in 10 minutes tops. It was super easy to do (concealed fixing) and it looks so much better than the old seat. I’m rubbish at DIY so this is a real achievement for me 😀I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)12

He was jealous 😆 Just before I fitted it I somehow managed to get a cut on my thumb which started bleeding and he said it was because I was thinking about doing something manual 😐 He is now calling me Bob the Builder 😆SuzeQStan said:Well done SA 👍🏻 YT vids are great for tasks like that. Morning all, happy Tuesday 🎄
WFH again today. Got up really early so enjoyed reading my book with a coffee, doing a couple of surveys and some Spanish lessons.
Got a busy day, quite a few work meetings in my calendar, hairdressers at 9am and Mr M delivery at lunchtime. Mr SA will have to take the dog out on his own as realistically I won't be able to fit it in.
I usually have a Mr M delivery at 6am but moved it to later as the bin men are picking up the recycling first thing a day early and I didn't want them getting into a tangle in the drive 😆 Must remember to finalise Thursday's delivery today although there won't be that much on it as I've had notification there's nothing missing from today's order. It will just be fresh stuff and I need to bear in mind the next delivery will be the following Thursday (only remembered to book it in yesterday!) so need to make sure I've got enough cat food or there'll be trouble.
Today's exercise will be walking to/from the hairdressers, bums & tums at lunchtime and resistance bands tonight.
Housework task is to clean the kitchen (didn't get round to it yesterday) plus steam mop all the floors, plus the ironing I didn't do yesterday.
Making spiced butternut squash stew for tonight's dinner another old favourite recipe.
