Sorry to hear those anniversaries are coming up. :(

Wow to the overstuffed charity shop. I do wonder what happens to it all: not everything can be sold and as you say, sorting it must be a huge job. I just have a suspicion that you donate nice stuff, though, so hopefully they will benefit.

Our favourite charity shop recently had a leak in the roof of their storeroom so they had to move lots and lots of bags of donations into the main shop until the leak was fixed and the storeroom dried out.  My goodness they had a lot of stuff but the volunteers seem to plough through it all whereas it would overwhelm me.   They've made a fabulous Christmas display in their window and I hope they win the best decorated shop competition for the shopping parade.  There are other well decorated shops but they are commercial and seem to have spent lots of money on the display.

    That's Monday done.

Picked up my new reading and computer glasses on the way home. I'm not 100% with the computer ones they seem a bit strange, I can't put my finger on what it is with them. Will persevere as it might be because they're a stronger prescription than the last ones. I'll give them until Wednesday when I'm next in the office and take them back if they're still no better.

Did the usual Monday budget check, paid off the cc balance, reconciled receipts against budget pots and transferred money accordingly. At the halfway point of the 4 week budget period.

Today's exercise has been walking to/from work. Not planning on anything else today, looking forward to a nice soak in the bath as I got wet walking to and from work.

Tonight's dinner is something quick from the freezer - scampi, sweet potato wedges and salad.

  • Interesting you say that. I have computer glasses for the first time and not getting on that well with them. Had them about 3 months and half the time I seem to not bother. Must persevere though

It took me a couple of days to get used to my new glasses this time. That’s never happened before. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Morning all, happy Tuesday.

The new reading glasses are fine. I've been using computer glasses for a few years now and not had a problem with them. I think it's because I was talked into having a reading part of the lens so it makes them almost like varifocals. It sounded like a good idea at the time but I've always been able to read fine with my normal computer glasses. The proof of the pudding will be when I'm in the office and have the screens further away, I think they'll feel better then.

WFH today thank goodness and what I'm calling my last "normal" day of the week before it all kicks off.

Can't believe I've woken up with a sore throat and feeling like I've got the lurgy coming on this morning. Not what I wanted on this of all weeks! I'm going to keep myself hydrated as this usually helps flush things out.

Mr M delivery arrived and packed away before 7am. Also emptied the fridge and gave it a good clean before putting anything back in.

I'm having my nails done this afternoon ready for the concert. Still haven't told Mr SA, I'm going to leave it until the day so he hasn't got time to come up with a reason why I can't go. Quickly tried on the outfit and it's a tad big 😬 I'm going to have to roll the waistband round so the legs aren't too long as the bottoms are about a foot too long! The top is massive too but has a tie waist. I'll sort it out somehow, it's only for a couple of hours on one night. I wish I'd just bought a cape type thing I saw on Amazon ages ago as I could've worn it with my jeans. Too late now as not on next day delivery. Thinking aloud - maybe I could just wear the borrowed top with some leggings 🤔

Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning, bums & tums at lunchtime and resistance bands tonight.

Tonight's dinner is leftover cauliflower cheese fish pie with steamed veg.
