If you get referred by your doctor I was amazed to find that the whole hearing aid thing is free.  I got them last week.  I have been told that even though I have behind the ear ones (in ear ones were definitely not recommended for my ears) they are very hard to see even though I have short hair.

That's worth knowing. I know private ones are very expensive.  I presume you have to go to a certain clinic if its NHS?

I got my hearing aids about 3 months ago and they are fantastic.  It is only when I take them out for the day that I realise how much I must have not heard as they make things so much clearer.  All free on the NHS and yes most people haven't noticed until I point them out.  Even the replacement batteries are free from the drs

Back from the Christmas market and it was a bit disappointing to be honest. There were more stalls than last year but everything was really expensive. It was also extremely busy. Mr SA had to park up his scooter and use his stick as there just wasn’t the room. I bought a round of hot drinks and it was over £20. The dog was overwhelmed by it all and constantly sniffing the ground for edible items in between barking at other dogs and sniffing peoples feet. She’s fast asleep now.

I found a matching black toaster and kettle for a good price on Am@zon. I needed a 4 slot toaster as Mr SA has 4 slices of toast for his breakfast. I needed the kettle to match the coffee machine as it lives next to it. A new kettle has been on the to replace list for 2 or 3 years now. Although the present items are still working they’ve definitely seen better days - a bit like me really 🤣

Forgot to say Mr SA announced his tube of face cream had run out. I cut the tube in half to show him there was still a good amount left. He wasn’t impressed by this and said he wasn’t stooping that low 😐 Told him it wasn’t me being stingy it was him being wasteful!

Well I can’t believe my 9 yo DGD wants a skincare set for Christmas. Anyway it’s been ordered and I went via TCB. I thought I was an early skin care adopter at 12 😱 DD definitely wasn’t into skin care at that age. On the plus side I guess it’s never too early to look after your skin.

    Morning all.

Already been up over an hour finishing off my book with a coffee.

I accidentally shut the old cat in the living room overnight so I’ve had wee to clear up. Can’t moan because I shut her in there. Goodness knows where she was hiding, I thought I’d checked everywhere before I closed the door.

I’ve got a very long to do list for today. I still haven’t taken the steam cleaner out of its box but will do today as the bathroom could do with a deep clean. The days and weeks seem to be flying by at the moment and I never get around to doing everything I need to do. Got a really busy week ahead too with the tombola stall Wednesday and the ABBA tribute concert Thursday. Off Friday though to recover.

Mr SA wants to go to a local high street’s Christmas lights switch on this afternoon but I could really do with a day at home catching up. The dog will need to go out but only to the park across the road.

Most Christmas presents are bought now but still no idea what to get DGS and DS and DIL can’t think of anything at the moment but will let me know. I did mention premium bonds but they’re not keen on that idea.

I’m making the PON cauliflower cheese fish pie for my dinner tonight. Got leftover pizza and salad for lunch. Of course there’s leftover cava for the Strictly results 🥂

So I’ve had quite a productive day.

Money wise have spent £0 🥳

Took the dog for a good run on the park and litter picked a full bin liner. Interesting litter item was two pairs of boxer shorts 🤔

Then took 5 bags of donations to the charity shop. They directed me to take them in the back and OMG that back room was piled high to the rafters with donations, literally to the ceiling. I wouldn’t know where to start, my worst nightmare!

The new toaster and kettle arrived, they look great and made me realise just how shabby the old ones are. The bin men take small electricals so will put out on bin day.

Did a fair bit of Spanish learning.

On the Christmas front have got out my Christmas socks and nighties. Changed the bedding and put the winter duvet on and the Christmas bedding. Looked at the new Christmas tree then put it back in the box. Also started reading a Christmas book.

Finally unpacked the steam cleaner and steamed the bathroom tiles. Thankfully it has a very long handle so I no longer have to climb to clean them.

Steam cleaned all the floors with the steam mop.

Had a nice relaxing bath with a face pack. Unfortunately the bathroom sink plug decided to get stuck when I was washing my face and had to ask Mr SA to assist. He tackled it with a hammer and has broken it. So a new plug is needed 😐

Made a batch of carrot, Swede and lentil soup for work lunches. Made the cauliflower cheese fish pie which was very nice.

We didn’t go to the local Christmas lights switch on in the end, Mr SA was watching TV in bed and I was too busy.

Oh my days forgot to say it’s 7 years ago today since Mr SA ran me over on his mobility scooter and totally trashed my ankle. A couple more weeks and it will be the broken leg anniversary 😬
