Have a nice time with the family this afternoon! I forget what age the grandkids are, would they take to a jigsaw that could be put away between times, perhaps? Or do they need something active?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Enjoy your day. Do you not keep a few things in the house for your GKs to play with? We have a big box of Lego. Colouring books and pens, play dough and a few dolls and a tub of Playmobil plus a few games and puzzles and books. A lot of it was off market place or here from when our girls were little. You do need space to store it though. Failing that TV 😂😂Hope weather stays dry.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I do have Lego which DGS enjoys playing with for a short time. DGD is 9 going on 15 and starting to grow out of toys. DGS is autistic and also very hyperactive so nothing keeps his interest for long. I was looking in The Works yesterday for a craft kit or something to keep them occupied but didn’t see anything. I’ve also got crayons, colouring books etc.
Thank you for your suggestions. I think I might see if the charity shop has anything suitable.Hopefully the rain will hold off as they do enjoy going to the park.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
DGD craft kits - friendship bracelets maybe? Something that is simple but not messy but a bit more grown up.
I tend to save 'presents' for when the SGS visit or they turn up with nothing to do. Something to make or play with - lego etc, or mess free crafts. Air drying clay, play dough, water pistols in the summer (poor cats). I send them home with noisy battery free presents! My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thank you all for the great ideas. We went to the big park in the end and the GKs had a great time running through the leaves and picking up conkers. They also enjoyed the playground. It rained but not heavy rain.I bought some winter pansies from the plant shop there. They’ll cheer up a couple of planters on the patio over winter. My step count has just hit 30,000 and I’m shattered. Waiting for Mr SA to get out of the shower then I’ll be having a long soak in the bath.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7
