Just had notification that the bank switch is going ahead and will be completed on 10 October. At least I’ve done that right.

  • If the bank switch works as smoothly as the one I did a while ago then all your details for payments you make by manual transfer will move across as well - I was surprised at that bit!

    Ticks are indeed horrible.

Hurrah to the awards ceremony as well!

    Enjoy the reward ceremony.
Well done on the decision to move banks. I changed a few years ago and then Dh changed his…..he always said he’d never do it but because mine went so smoothly he decided to follow suit…..his also went smoothly (our accounts are both joint ones…..but I like control of my cash and pay certain things from it and Dh pays the rest from his…..we could both use each other’s though if we needed to without any problems)

    Morning all, happy hump day.

WFH again today just waiting for the Mr M delivery to arrive.

I need to think about a plan for October. Decluttering needs to be a massive part of it that's for sure. Jotting a few ideas down as I go along. The next two regular savers are due to mature at the end of the month and I've definitely done these two right as they were fixed amounts going in a month. I need to get a quote for the fencing in the drive. I'd quite like some gates for the drive as it's very wide - we did have some big heavy wooden ones but Mr SA took them off "to paint" before his illness and they just rotted in the garden. Anyway the gates depend on cost, the fencing is more important as thanks to Mr SA's bodged "repair" it looks awful.

Turning to today's plans, exercise will be dog walking later this morning, a lunchtime Pilates session and Zumba tonight.

The Nutty Sweet Potato and Lime Stew I made last night was absolutely gorgeous, I've made it a few times now and it's definitely a recipe I'll keep going back to. Nothing fancy tonight we are both having scampi, mine with swede "chips" and Mr SA normal chips (he would cry if I gave him swede chips!).

I've made that one too - thanks to you! - and I can vouch for it!

That’s another working day done, the final one of the week from home. I can’t believe Mr SA requested sausage sandwiches for his lunch. The answer was no, I’m certainly not spending my lunch break cooking!

I’ve closed all the sinking funds pots attached to the current account and sent them to the Cov easy access account for the time being so that’s another job done ready for the switch.

I’m going to get my autumn/winter clothes out now and make a start on packing away the summer ones. I have just under 2 hours until Zumba so might as well do something productive.

Could it be worth cooking, slicing and freezing a couple of sausages when you are already cooking?
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

It’s not just the cooking, the sausages are for a proper meal not just a random lunch and he generally eats 4 at a time. He can be very greedy with food, can never fill him up.

I got the winter clothes out and have packed a few summer ones away so far. I’ve been really ruthless with things I’m realistically not going to wear, even if they still have tags on, and things I’m sick of seeing being trawled out year after year and not being worn. I’ve already filled a bag for the charity shop. Honestly my heart sank when I saw some of the things, thinking not this again! It’s still a work in progress and will continue over the next few days.

I mainly live in skinny jeans for work/weekends and leggings if WFH. I don’t need all this stuff!
