What a blooming ordeal that was 😫 Mr SA’s legs picked today to stop working completely! Only just stopped him falling in the train station on the way there, a bloke kindly helped him over the very large gap between the platform and the train, another bloke gave up his seat for him and another bloke helped him get out of his seat to get off the train. Fortunately DS was waiting on the platform and we managed to get him in the car.He had 3 falls while we were at DS’s. Fortunately DIL used to work in a care home years ago and knew how to get him up.DS’s house is really quaint it’s a former Victorian hospital and the stairs are scarily narrow, Mr SA fell down them! Then he fell getting back in the car to go back to the station. We managed to manhandle him into the seat. Because he’s so slow we had to ask the train driver to wait for him which made him late 😬
Then at our home station he really struggled and a station guard ended up helping him. He said take your time I’m on duty until 1am.
The journey back was quite entertaining as at the stop after DS’s loads of people got on dressed for a night out in our local city in a cloud of perfume and aftershave. Within seconds all you could hear was cans cracking open 🤣
Eventually got him in a taxi outside the station, paid over the odds but it was worth it to get home and the driver was very helpful.
If we go again I’m definitely taking the wheelchair.
Won’t be doing that again in a hurry which is a shame as it was lovely to see the GKs in their own environment. The rag doll cat is gorgeous. He’s huge and so friendly. He’s not in the least phased by the GKs constantly picking him up and cuddling him, he goes all floppy when you pick him up 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Sorry it was do difficult with Mr SA. I think taking the wheelchair is a good idea too. Even if he doesn't need it, just for peace of mind.
I googled those cats before, they do look gorgeous.September 2017 Debt = £25330

Oh dear, @Sun_Addict - That shows just how much Mr SA needs his scooter for day-to-day. I think taking the wheelchair next time is a good idea, even if it means you end up pushing it & I think you are quite a slight frame? (Though I am sure you are strong from all the exercise you do!). If the wheelchair wasn't needed on a similar future occasion, you'd at least have that peace of mind that you wouldn't have a repeat of today's difficulties should anything occur. Hope he wasn't hurt in these falls, anyway. Cat sounds like a cutie.

Crikey, what a nightmare! I'm really sorry you had that to go through.
Does go to show how helpful people can be, though.
Take the chair next time - if Mr SA objects, tell him you might need it because you found the last trip so exhausting!
And the ragdoll cat sounds lovely.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
