Currency ordered to pick up from MnS tomorrow while I'm picking up the towels order. Also have a free packet of cookies waiting for me for my birthday 😁 The currency was less than I'd allowed in the budget so that was all good.
Managed to find a 10% off code for the airport lounge so that's all booked too. It would probably be cheaper to buy food/drink from the airport cafes but this would also mean queuing with Mr SA in a wheelchair and finding somewhere to sit in what is often a packed solid cafe/bar. Plus wheeling him about back and forth around the airport. It's worth every penny to me to park him in the lounge and let him have unlimited bacon rolls and coffees while I have a browse round the shops before returning and grabbing a glass of bubbly to relax with before the flight. He was stressing about getting a meal deal for the plane so had to explain to him he would have breakfast in the lounge, the flight is at 6.30 and we'll be at the hotel before lunchtime which will actually be 10am in reality as they're 2 hours ahead. Since when has he had lunch that early! Honestly all he ever thinks about is his stomach! I've relented to a tub of Pringles for the flight.
We always take currency on holiday and hire a safe. I know a lot of people use a Revolut or similar card but in the places we go cash is king and reliable cash points few and far between. In the case of Zante very few and far between! We also have just over €100 left over from Lanzarote so we have ample. Any cash left over will be rolled forward to the next holiday. I need to remember to withdraw £50 for the refundable mobility scooter deposit (why it has to be in £s rather than €s I don't know).
Re the recipe, I was going to say I'm just using a green courgette as I don't have any other colours but Mr SA has returned from his afternoon scoot with the dog with a huge yellow courgette from a giveaway box on a wall down the road. He comes in useful sometimes 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -

Oooooh, I'm glad you mentioned that freebie courgette, as it has reminded me that a house around the corner from us sometimes has 'help yourself' free cherry plums. I might have a little wander that way this week & see if she has put any out for people to take.

The airport lounge sounds like it's worth every penny in your case SA! I 😉. It'll be nice to be able to have a mooch around the airport shops on your own without being pestered!
I meant to say that when you mentioned some posts ago that Mr SA wanted a necklace like Spider's on Corrie I had to Google it as I haven't watched Corrie for some years. The one I saw on Spider's photo looked a lot like those edible colourful sweetie necklaces I used to buy as a child! 😀Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

That's my last working Wednesday until 13 September done 😎
Have been in the office today. Caved in and went to fetch a coffee from the Costa downstairs and realised for only 25p more I could pick up a huge ham and cheese baguette for Mr SA so at least the coffee craving was met in a money saving way 😆 That's his tomorrow's lunch sorted.
Yes the necklace he's after is indeed the one that looks like a sweet necklace 😬 I don't know what he's thinking, he gets some very strange ideas!
I've been to MnS - the currency has been picked up as have the new towels. Also picked up my free birthday biscuits while I was in there - I chose cranberry and orange - they've been hidden from Mr SA as he'd eat the whole packet in one sitting.
Today's exercise was walking to/from work just over 20,000 steps (including going up and down 12 flights of stairs 3 times) and Zumba at 6pm so will end on around 26,000. I'll be ready for a sit down with my feet up later!
Tonight's dinner is smoked haddock with leek, cauliflower and pearl barley - I made this a few weeks ago and it was really tasty so giving it another whirl.
