I don’t know what it was with today but he had one of his days where his legs just can’t seem to move. This is why it’s easier for us to go abroad. He’s in a wheelchair and helped from the moment we check in to until we reach the hotel, I don’t have to do anything. You don’t realise until you have to deal with it that this country isn’t as disabled friendly as they like to think it is.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

You should be able to book assitance for train travel. I have seen very big scooters on the train as well as smaller ones and wheelchairs. It is far to dangerous for you to have to manhandle Mr SA onto the train especially with some of the gaps between platforms and the train. Assistance is available at unmanned stations as well as manned ones if that is a worry. I wont say its a perfect system but is very good when it does work.

So very true SA - when my m&d visit from USA they are always astonished at having to heave up and down stairs at airports etc. it’s not easy for them at their age and I think it comes as a bit of a shock compared to where they live where big & small business routinely face litigation for inadequate provision of access/servicesLancashire

Cat sounds such a cutie pie.
The prize for the most falls of the day goes to Mr SA.
Sounds just dire.

Sadly our local train network don’t accept mobility scooters 🙁 There has been a bit of a debate about this recently so they may well relent soon 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

On the airports I have found Marsailles to be sadly lacking.
I have now not been to France for 7 years.

Morning all, lovely sunny start to the day, hope it continues.Mr SA is looking forward to the football this morning. Strange that not so long ago he was dismissing women’s football as it didn’t count 🙄
Hoping for a relaxing day after I’ve done the cleaning and some gardening. No plans to go further than the park across the road with the dog. Mr SA is still shaken by yesterday’s events. Should be a NSD too.I’m planning to join a live WW cook along tonight and actually cooking along. Making enchiladas, mine will be a version of the recipe as usual not following it 100% 😆 Will post a link if I can find it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
