And this is the butternut squash dhal I made last night. I make it a lot as it’s absolutely delicious. I tend to use normal rice rather than cauliflower rice. It’s not as easy posting hyperlinks on the iPad as it is on a laptop!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Sun_Addict said:Sadly our local train network don’t accept mobility scooters 🙁 There has been a bit of a debate about this recently so they may well relent soon 🤞
That is terrible. However you could book assistance for Mr SA getting on and off the train (they may accept wheelchairs). As he is a larger gentleman it may encourage them to sort the scooter problem out.

Sorry you had such issues with Mr SA. I am sure that those of us who are not disabled don't realise how tough it is to manage public transport with reduced or little mobility. How far is it to your DS house? Is a taxi prohibitively expensive?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. What a difficult time you had on the journey yesterday - you are amazingly resilient to deal with the challenges of taking MrSA out as well as all the challenges when he is at home.
it's good to see so many people getting behind the England team despite their previous disregard of the women's game. My elderly dad watched the semi final and grudgingly said that the match was ok.
would be amazing to win the World Cup. Waiting 57 years for the men to do It again so the women might as well do it themselves 🙃

I'm so sorry to to read of Mr SA's awful time on the trains. It must have absolutely debilitating for both of you. I have to agree with the other posters that the railway system in the U.K. could certainly pull up its socks concerning those with mobility disabilities. My local station has very steep stairs to get up and down to the platforms and no lifts! It is a quiet station with no parking and most people use the next one up which isn't that far but still.......

That dhal recipe looks good - thanks for posting the link! I've copied it out and I have a butternut squash just 4g short of the required 500g, so I may be doing it with reduced squash.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The enchiladas were absolutely delicious. I only semi followed the recipe and just used 2 wraps and rolled them up rather than layer as suggested. I made enough for 2 portions so that’s Tuesday’s dinner sorted. It also used up some grated cheese I had in the freezer.I ended up being a lot busier than planned as I did loads of gardening as well as cleaning although I did get some time reading in the garden in between.Have picked some more home grown tomatoes as well as blackberries. The peppers are doing well just waiting for them to turn red before picking. In other news, earlier today I spotted something big with a tail crawling across the living room floor 😱 On closer inspection it was a newt! How did that get there, we don’t have a cat flap so can’t blame it on the cats unless one sneaked it in when the door was open. Anyway it was repatriated to the pond and appeared to swim off unscathed.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
