LOL at the Newt - that's a new one on me too although I'm sure when we had HRH had there been any i the neighbourhood she would have managed to catch a few for us!

As for MrSA, thank goodness he wasn't hurt with all the falls - and I agree that taking the wheelchair and booking assistance is the way forwards there. I do slightly wonder whether it would be worth challenging their insistence that they can't accept mobility scooters would be worthwhile - how do they expect folk who need to travel alone to cope? not everyone has the ability to manage a self propelled non-powered wheelchair, after all!

I can only assume the newt managed to hitch a ride into the house somehow, maybe with the laundry or perhaps one of the cats managed to sneak it in. It startled me at first because from a distance all I could see was something biggish with a tail crawling across the floor.

That's Monday almost done - the last working Monday until 11 September for me. Have been in the office this morning, left at 1-ish, did some shopping in Lid! and now logging on to finish my working day off. Had two free items to pick up from Lid! - bread and a jar of salsa. Strange that I get the free salsa a day after I made the enchiladas. It will get used up at some stage anyway.

It's the start of the new 4 week budget period today and the last 4 week period has resulted in an underspend of £141.46 across all budget pots. I'm pleased with that result. There's even an underspend in the grocery pot although this is down to the £38 off from Mr M. Makes a change not to be subsidising the grocery overspend with underspends from the other pots.

    Surplus allocated as follows:

    £25 to savings
    £8.67 to Christmas
£10.00 back in the entertainment pot
£12.79 that Mr SA has spent in the card shop on goodness knows what for my birthday, hopefully not an expensive card or anything silly, he was warned about that!
£25 back to the house pot
    £60 to personal spends

The 4 week budget pots are: groceries (including food/household/alcohol/pet food), meals/coffees/entertainment, personal spends and house.

In theory this budget period should come in with a good underspend with us being on holiday for a week of it.

Well I've ridden both 3 & 4 wheeler ones & the "triangular" ones are downright dangerous.  Mr SA would be off it before he'd gone 100 yards.  The slightest pothole or slope into a drive & they are all over the place & we all know what pavements are like these days in the best of places.

Yes we were travelling with EMR. It's a prime example of a company not being inclusive 😡

I don't even want to think about how he'd be with a 3 wheeler one!

    Morning all, happy Tuesday.

WFH today just waiting for the Mr M delivery between 8 and 9, trying a later delivery slot today as it's a pain to be up at the crack of dawn when I don't need to be for a 6am delivery. Nothing missing or subbed according to the confirmation.

Mr SA has got a bee in his bonnet about wanting a "proper" razor as his electric one broke and he doesn't want disposable ones. So a task for today is to take him to S@vers to see what they have. He wants to choose it himself but I need to be with him so he doesn't go for something that isn't a good deal. Of course now he's talking about needing all the paraphernalia that goes with it like shaving soap and a brush (I've told him these have been replaced by shaving gel these days). He's had all this stuff before and got fed up with the extra effort it takes. I predict an electric shaver pester coming up in the near future!

So it's definitely not a NSD today 😆

Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning, a lunchtime bums & tums session and resistance bands tonight.

Tonight's dinner is leftover veggie enchilada from Sunday with salad so something quick after my resistance bands class. Mr SA is having chicken done in the slow cooker as he won't be able to wait until after 7 to eat 🙄 Last week when I was doing the 6pm Zumba class he shuffled in and said "can you smell that". I said I couldn't smell anything and he said "neither can I, but I was expecting to smell dinner cooking" 😐

Surely it's illegal to make it difficult for people with mobility issues to use transport? Or maybe I'm missing a nuance that shouldn't be allowed but has crept in @Sun_Addict? The newt made me laugh.  Reminded me of the time when I found 3 chooks in the downstairs bathroom  (old house with ex).  They were spookily dinosaur-like and I had to knock on doors till I found a neighbour who could pick them up.  Ended up adoring those chooks, mind you.  They kept me and my mother company for hours once when we were filing 5 years of paperwork in the back garden on a sunny day.  They made their way down the steps very happily.   Love Humdinger xx

Mr SA now has all his shaving paraphernalia including the shaving soap and brush I was surprised to see are still available. So that was £27 spent but will hopefully last him a few months. He's very heavy handed with products though. It's a good job I went with him because he spotted a Nive@ men's set for "only £8" and wanted to get it until I pointed out to him he already had or didn't use all of the contents! He then wanted to pick up a couple of lipsyls "for old times sake" even though he has a big stock of his new favourite Lid! brand (which incidentally last a lot longer than lipsyl) I intervened again and they were left on the shelf. There was then a bit of a standoff at the till when he wanted to pick up a bottle of perfume for himself "for holiday" when he already has ample! I was so glad to get out of the shop and even more pleased I'd gone with him or goodness knows how much he would've spent had he gone on his own!

In good money news we're finally getting our pay rise at work although not until October's pay but it will be backdated to June.
