    Afternoon all.

Thankfully in a much better frame of mind today although I got up at 4.15 due to needing the loo and no point going back to bed when the alarm goes off at 4.30. It meant I had quite a relaxing start to the day though.

Worked in the office until just after lunchtime, finishing up at home. I had a Mr M delivery due between 1.30 and 2.30 but it had already arrived when I got home just before 1.30. Thankfully it was only a small order and Mr SA was aware it was due.

The tree surgeon arrived on time last night. He's going to quote for a straightforward tidy up of the tree, removing about a third of the height and a big branch that's gone a bit wayward. He will also supply a quote if he did a really good tidy up of the tree removing all the dead wood underneath but that would add around £250 to the price and he doesn't really think it's necessary just cosmetic. He's also going to quote for the removal of some conifers behind the shed and greenhouse, also trimming some height from the holly tree. He asked me what my budget was but I don't have one really as I've no idea how much it will be. I know it won't be cheap. When I think about having a job done I just tend to get the quote and see if it's affordable. We had a few trees removed 2/3 years ago and that was £600 so I'm expecting this to be more.

The garden storage box arrived yesterday so that needs putting together.

    To do list:

    • Put garden storage box together (pencilled in for tomorrow)
    • Phone customer services about the jet washer (pencilled in for tomorrow)
    • Sort out stuff for Vintage CC. The pre-paid label is only valid for 21 days. Need to source a box.
    • Sort out Senior Railcard - I need a new photo to send with the application.
    • Touch up paint behind Mr SA's chair where he's scraped it off by having the chair too close to the wall.
    • Carry on decluttering the boxes from the understairs cupboard now I have some smaller storage boxes ready to go into the loft.
    • Plant seeds - waiting until we get back from holiday.
    • Order Euros for holiday (next week)
    • Book taxis for holiday (next week)
    • Somehow find time to take Mr SA holiday clothes shopping (either this Saturday or next depending on visit from DS and the GKs).
    • Paint garden bench with paint purchased last weekend.
    • Buy some new seat pads for garden bench.
    • Paint pallet with the bright pink paint I bought last year - I had a flash of inspiration of filling it with brightly coloured planters once painted.

I think that's enough to be going on with!

Today's exercise has been walking to/from work 20,379 steps and a live resistance bands class tonight.

Tonight's dinner is leftover gunpowder cauliflower and lentil curry from Sunday. Realised last night I have a bit of a theme going on with my recent dinners what with the gunpowder cauliflower and last night's bang bang salmon 🤣

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Sounds very positive with tree surgeon, hopefully it'll all come in as affordable. Will be lovely to have the light for summer

Having had a lot of tree work done recently, that quote sounds very reasonable - particularly as fuel costs have gone up since mine were last done and that's going to have a significant impact on the cost of running all that machinery!

    I think that’s a good price.

I'd be happy with that price for the scope of the work, especially since he sounded decent in talking about what was necessary and what was cosmetic
