Afternoon all.
Thank you all for your kind comments, I do appreciate your support. Apologies if I've not replied to them all.
I was really busy yesterday so ran out of time to update.
With hindsight I should've stuck to my original plan of going to the party later after I'd cooked Mr SA's dinner then I could've joined in with the dancing and left whenever I was ready. Another friend is retiring in the summer and I'm determined I'll work it so I can stay a lot longer. She hasn't decided on timings yet so it might be an afternoon do.
I'm determined to get my sparkle back 🙂
Worked in the office until late morning then left to come back home. Had to stop off at Primani for Mr SA as I ended up taking back his new shorts from Mr T yesterday because he didn't like the fit. Anyway I got him a few bits and they all fit thank goodness.
Yesterday I made him sort his wardrobe out and we identified two bin bags of clothes for the charity shop so dropped them off on the way to Mr T. Well I say he sorted out his wardrobe it mainly consisted of him laying in bed watching TV while I emptied everything out and held it up for him to make a decision.
Monday finance check done and cc balance cleared. This is the final week of the 4 week budget period and it's looking good for a decent underspend apart from Mr SA's personal spends pot which is showing a £1.80 overspend this month due to the new holiday clothes.
Today's exercise is walking to/from work, a short strength training session and live Zumba at 6pm.
Tonight's dinner is a new recipe which handily makes use of quite a few things that need using up Hearty Chickpea and Sweet Potato Stew.
This time next week we'll be in Lanzarote 😎

I'm sure I'm out of line here, but your daughter could fetch the fish n chips?
Or perhaps your son could pop over for a Friday evening visit with fish n chips?
It's not like you ask much of anyone. And if you don't ask, you won't get.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3 -
My daughter was working until late on Friday and he wouldn’t wait that long. My son lives 25 miles away.

All you can do is work things out in a way that work the best for you SA, even if that's not always ideal, it's about making the best of things I guess. It's so tricky to balance when you have someone who is demanding, but not incapacitated enough that they qualify for external help - I really do feel for you, and not surprised it's all beginning to be rather too much.

Won’t mention Mr SA’s sister.

Ah so even more vital then that you attend as many work social activities as possible,as you’ll be retiring in the near future. And as for your own retirement party……

I don’t want a party but plan to have several small celebrations with friends. I’ll still see my work friends as we plan to catch up regularly as one by one we retire.

No words to say about SIL 😡 Mind you I don’t really want her interfering.
The chippie possibly delivers via the delivery services. We haven’t had a takeaway for over 20 years so not really up to speed with them.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
The thing is with Mr SA is that he struggles to do things but has me to help. He got into a tizzy when he picked up his meds from the chemist the other week. He wouldn’t be able to manage on his own.
Had a message from the tree man and he can do the work two weeks on Wednesday which suits me as I’ll still be off work that week.
Another catch up with friends booked in for the week I go back to work so that’s something to look forward to 🙂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
