Also had an unfortunate experience with Pernod and blackcurrant years ago. Shudder.

Oh my word, what a day. Hope today is better for you. And as for the guitar….they are so expensive. My Dh has electric guitars, and has sold several 2nd hand ones for well in the £hundreds, a good one is not cheap. He's just going to list one today actually, as I he promised to sell one ages ago and never got round to it, so I threatened to throw it out if he didn't sell it!

Hope you get to have a calm and lovely Sunday 🥂

Agree with @Makingabobor2 that an electric guitar is a really expensive gift, maybe something you can chip in for while her parents pay the bulk, or you can match what she saves/earns towards it?

Re the guitar it would only be a beginner one. Definitely wouldn’t pay a lot for what could be a fad. There are a few starter kits on the big river store for £100 or less. At this stage she just wants to learn how to play one. If she starts to get more serious about it then she would have to ask for birthday/Christmas money from us all to buy a better one. It’s not her birthday for a few weeks yet so will collaborate with DS and DIL first.

Smile of the day has to be a young Catholic priest dressed in full regalia playing with his kids on the park this morning. He was pedalling frantically on a little roundabout thing and sounded like he was enjoying it more than his kids 🤣🤣

5 bags of donations dropped off at the charity shop 🥳

Made a vegan banana loaf this morning using bananas from the Lid! box. Added a couple of drops of almond essence this time which has made it even more delicious.

Also made a batch of swede, carrot and parsnip soup for work lunches. The next two weeks meals need to revolve around using up veg stocks before we go on holiday. Tonight’s dinner is gunpowder cauliflower and lentil curry. Roasted the cauliflower while I was roasting the root veg for the soup and baking the banana loaf.

Not a NSD as have ordered a garden storage box, primarily for the cushions. Mr SA has been warned it’s not for tools or shoes. The storage box has been on the list of things needed for some time.

Next up is cleaning the kitchen and bathroom as DD is at work and Mr SA is back in bed. Too good an opportunity to miss.
