Morning all, happy hump day.
WFH today so nice relaxing start to the day.
Morning yoga session done.
Mid-week budget check done, CC balance cleared and an oddment of £1.79 has gone to the Christmas pot.
Two things I'm not looking forward to today. The first one is I'm taking part in a presentation later this morning and have to go on camera and speak. Thankfully I've only got a short slot but starting to regret volunteering to do this. The second thing is I'm having a shingles vaccination at lunchtime. The pneumonia vaccine was quite painful as there isn't much flesh on my arms for cushioning.
So I'll be glad when it's this afternoon.
Today's exercise is yoga (done), dog walking shortly, walking to/from the doctors (ouch) and live Zumba at 6pm.
Trying a new recipe for tonight's dinner from the Proper Healthy plant-based cookbook by Calum Harris - chipotle tofu tacos. This will use up another couple of that box of tacos I opened a couple of weeks ago. I can't find the recipe online but there are some really nice recipes on his website.
I'm trying to get on top of the cleaning during the week so I don't have to spend the best part of Sunday cleaning up. Today's task is the bathroom as there's a possibility I may be able to actually get in it with DD being at work today. Between DD and Mr SA the bathroom seems to be constantly in use!

I was wondering if a rug under Mr SA’s chair would help with the mess, but I s’pose he would then trip over it……..?

Fortunately we don’t have carpets apart from the stairs so a rug would be harder to clean. At least the mess is easy to clean with it being a hard floor.

Presentation done ✔️
Vaccine done ✔️
Now to get on with the rest of the day.

Well done. I hope you can feel happy with how the presentation went and your arm doesn't hurt.

I seem to have got a built in radar of when Mr SA is up to something. I went downstairs to fetch a drink and he was just sneaking in a can of beer he'd been to fetch despite having his nightly supply. I wondered why he was asking for cash yesterday when he's quite capable of using a card. This might sound petty or controlling on my part but it's the one extra can that causes issues. Sometimes I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall. He tried to claim he was saving it for the rugby at the weekend - of course he is!

Ohhhh, the man is a holy terror! It must feel so frustrating when the fall-out from extra alcohol is on you, grrrr.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!2 -
Well done.
