Prosecco and scrolling is a good night 🥂
I had a job this week that involved having to write a little bit about the rugby and I was literally like 'there were some people I think men who played some rugby it is a sport they throw a ball?'

I’m my previous job I worked for a family run business, they were Welsh and obsessed with rugby, it was more or less all they talked about. I ended up helping them with a rugby newsletter as they coached at a rugby club for kids. So I actually know some of the terminology which bugs Mr SA 🤣
However this doesn’t mean I like sports 🤣

I’ve never been a rugby fan either.

I have no interest in sport, FIL has known me for close on 30 years and knows this. This week he has mostly been talking about Cheltenham festival and the rugby and can not understand why I have no clue nor opinion on what he is talking about.

I absolutely love PIP's words of wisdom on the subject of rugby - a little more erudite than mine would be in similar circumstances!

Had to flesh it out a wee bit from my initial draft @Cherryfudge but getting paid 💅😂
(Which confirms my suspicions that wot I wrote is all anyone actually knows about rugby 😁)

In the dim & distant past I dated a couple of college rugby players. The main thing I learnt was that most of them had broken noses & could hold their alcohol.

Afternoon all, happy Monday.
Sunday
Ran out of time to post yesterday as I was trying, without success, to catch up on everything I didn't get time to do during the week all in one day. The plan was to at least cut the grass and plant on some seedlings that are getting too big for the tiny pots they're in. That didn't happen as by the time I'd finished cleaning it started raining. Plus it was very windy and quite unpleasant outside even when it was dry. Mr SA had created a whole load of extra cleaning as he had a tummy upset which resulted in a change of bedding, cleaning the bathroom, washing his clothes then having to clean the washing machine and run it on a maintenance wash.
On the plus side it was a NSD.
As the garden jobs had been sacked off I gave the kitchen a good clean and steam scrubbed all the floors.
I made a batch of roast veg soup for work lunches making use of a red pepper and aubergine from the Lid! veg box. Last night's dinner was a cherry tomato orzo bake using up a punnet of cherry tomatoes from the same box.
Got some lovely flowers and a card from DD. Already had the card and wine from DS yesterday.
We watched the film I Swear last night but unfortunately I fell asleep halfway through so will have to catch up with what I missed at some stage. Mr SA really enjoyed it and keeps going on about how good it was. I annoy myself sometimes as I can't seem to watch TV for longer than an hour without falling asleep no matter how good the film/programme is.
Today
Worked in the office this morning and WFH this afternoon.
Stopped off at Lid! on the way home. I was glad there weren't any fruit/veg boxes as I know I would've been tempted. I really don't need any more fruit at the moment!
Usual Monday finance check done and all ticking over nicely halfway through the month.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and I'm doing a live strength training session at 7.15.
Tonight's dinner is veg chilli in a baked sweet potato.

I'm not at all surprised that you fall asleep in front of the TV, @Sun_Addict, as you seem to be 'on the go' all the time, with not a lot of help on the domestic front - working full time, being a carer, early morning starts for your long walk into work, walking pretty much everywhere else too…... I'm amazed you're only falling asleep while watching TV & not at your desk!
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!5
