Afternoon all, happy Saturday 🥂
Up at 3.30 to let the young cat out, back to bed, up at 5 to let the dog and old cat out, back to bed, eventually gave up and got up at 6.
We went to F@rmf00ds this morning. I’d seen a good deal on frozen fruit which I use for my overnight oats. There’s me paying £2 or more for a bag of edamame beans - 99p in there!! Grabbed 3. They have so many different kinds of fruit/veg. I bought a huge bag of shiitake mushrooms for 99p. I’m really impressed and will be back. I had to laugh at the daughter taking her elderly mother shopping. The mother had bought loads of packs of biscuits. The daughter said ‘more biscuits mother, you must’ve got the best selection of biscuits in the universe’ 🤣After that we went to Mr T which seemed very expensive in comparison 😆
Managed to grab some wholemeal wraps reduced to 39p and some protein bagel thins for 49p locally. They’ve gone in the freezer.
Mr SA has broken his phone again 😖 It’s less than a year since the last one was replaced. His insurance will cover it but I wish he wasn’t so careless with them.Tonight’s dinner is Mexican bean burger, wedges and salad.
Prosecco in the fridge for later 🥂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Not been to a F**mf00d* for years, our nearest one is about 7 miles away, and I never really go into that town now. If I see one any time when I'm out and about, I will have to pop in for a look. We buy a lot of frozen fruit, so might be worth a look.

I haven't been in that shop for decades, ever since the staff had never heard of free range eggs. I left the shop wondering if I'd mistakenly asked for class A drugs instead! It was the branch in the old now demolished shopping centre, so a long time ago though.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (5/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg1 -
If you sign up for special offer emails from FF, they send you money off coupons. Usually £2 off a £20 (or was it £25?) spend.

3 for £6 or 6 for £10. All sorts of fruit even dragon fruit. Decent sized bags too. The veg is 99p a bag and they have a huge variety even okra and Pak Choi. 1kg bags of lentils and chickpeas £1.29, on offer in Mr T for a lot more.

Forgot to say I finally got the bedding dry I hung out on Wednesday thanks to it being sunny and windy today.
I have @EssexHebridean to thank for the F@rmf00ds trip as she seems to find great bargains in there which made me give it another try. It depends what you’re looking for. For instance the loo rolls I usually buy in Mr T for £5.75 a pack are 6 packs for £20 in there, exactly the same ones. If you sign up to their emails they send you money off vouchers, eg £2 off £25. Not sure we’d fit 6 packs of loo rolls on Mr SA’s scooter though 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Tell Mr SA the phone is coming out of his personal spends (which include beer)

It’s only £20 excess to pay but it is coming out of his personal spends. Only fair as despite him having a case for it he keeps taking it out.
