Well back from the hospital and apparently the drain has to remain in situ until it dries up, and once dry for 48 hours then one of the smart nurses can remove it.
The Dr I spoke to has said because of other health issues (dodgy heart problems ) he strongly advised against me having an op to remove my gall bladder as the percentages of survival weren't great.
So my eldest DD promptly put her foot down, and said no way are you having an op Mum .So I'm back at home with the drain still attached ,quite disappointed but he did say I could drive as long as its only short distances, and I can at least go out a little more.
So not the freedom I had hoped for but at least he explained whats going on and fingers crossed when the drain stops draining I can have it removed The fact I can use my car ,albeit only for short distances is a result though.I hate having to rely on lifts here and there.
hey ho onwards and upwards I guess

A step in the right direction and a a bit more freedom for you. You have been very brave and patient9

@London_1 - I'm so sorry to hear Dora hasn't been shown the door yet but at least you're heading in the right direction - no overdoing it though!
I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for you since you always seem so busy - little and often might be the order of the day for now. Chin up, we're all rooting for you X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Sorry to hear that things haven't quite progressed as you hoped but fingers crossed that the drain will dry up asap- and some little driving too: That will mean a change of scene for you and a bit of independence.
Not long before dancing on the tables and other such occupations!!
Take careBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
