Thank you chums, both DDs were adamant about me taking a chance 😦 if I’d gone on my own I would probably said yes but both DD were horrified at the thought bless them. I know they mean it for the best, but it is so frustrating at times. I will have a drive to the library perhaps tomorrow , maybe have cheered up a bit by then 😌18

Oh my goodness, having had gallbladder problems myself I can honestly say the pain was awful. I remember I had to curl myself up into a position with a hot water bottle in order to get some relief.
I eventually had key hole surgery to remove it and was out of hospital the same day.
Awful news for you, something that did actually help me was cider apple vinegar, if I took regular doses I thought the attacks were less severe.
I really hope if you cant have surgery, theres an alternative to help.11 -
So disappointing Jackie but at least you can now drive short distances so won't be confined to the house unless someone can take you out. Nothing worse than having to rely on others for a lift.
Hopefully it won't be too long before the drain can be removed by your Smart nurses.

Just caught up JackieSorry to hear you have to suffer the drain a while yet. At least this time you know why you are being left with it, that can make it easier to bare, rather then the being sat there thinking you were just being ignoredAnd you are no longer. under house arrest - yayyyySpring is springing in, and you have your garden to sit in, even if you cant work on it. Just getting out in the fresh air can make you feel so much better xxx10

Drove to my local Dobbies for the usual Tuesday morning natter with friends it was great not to have to rely on lifts I must admit. But I am sticking to just short trips to the library and DDs on Sundays or Dobbies on Tuesdays . I will walk to my local polling station this morning to vote after the gardener has been and mowed the lawn and tidied it up. The weather is supposed to be a good one today, so a short walk will definitely be good as when I have voted I will return the long way round and although its through suburban streets the nice bit is seeing what folk have been doing to their front gardens
I have an off road parking drive, so no front garden( it was here when we moved in) its useful as I live within five minutes walk of a station so parking locally can cause problems if you haven't got a drive. Drs has one tiny onion shoot in the lot he planted a few weeks ago and I've sent him a photo.he is so chuffed you would think he had just produced a child
he's never grown anything in his life before bless him
I think I have become resigned to 'Dora the Drain' it does limit me somewhat but nothing I can do but be a patient patientDD has promised me a ritual burning of the blessed thang when it does eventually get removed
But I said I didn't think it would be very environmentally friendly.
Ah well time for a cuppa as the gardener will be here shortly and I always kickstart him with a cuppa when he arriveshe is a lovely chap and very helpful, I think he will be pleased to see DGS Bens tiny onion shoot as well.
Have a good day chums , make the most of it I bet the rain will be returning by the weekend
It rained for the last Coronation I remember it well, and that was in June 1953 and my eldest brother went into London and slept in the Mall and came home with a streaming cold , my late Mum bless her was good though, and didn't tell him off as our family are royalists and we had been celebrating at home in the dry
Cheers chums onwards and upwards

So glad you drove to Dobbies on Tuesday, for your regular meet-up. I was down your way for the Sweeps Festival last weekend, looked up the hill at Dobbies (when I was filling up) and wondered if you’d made it.
Fingers crossed Dora-the-drain will dry up soon.

Still have 'Dora the Drain ' attached
I have now to go to the other side of Rochester weekly to get the dressing and drain changed..I get hospital transport, as its too difficult to get to via public transport, and I'm not good at driving distances at the moment as its awkward to bend and I don't think its safe as its about 6 miles away I only drive to DD and back on a Sunday which is less than half a mile away or to Dobbies on a Tuesday which is also around the same distance
Its in part of the Wisdom Hospice as the Hospice gets funding for the District Nurses to have some space there. DN apparently do very few house calls at all in our area and you have to go to them.
I phone and book the transport a week in advance ,and you are given a two hour slot when they can pick you up. so I'm often there a good hour or so before my appointment.
Then I have to ring again after the appointment to book the return journey .
Last week I was sitting in the waiting room for an hour before the appointment then for three and a half hours after it so it usually takes the best part of the day up.Which is a bit of a pain as the appointment itself takes around 15 minutes to change the drain and dressing. But I take a bottle of water and my book or knitting to pass the time.
Next Thursday I see my consultant ,so he maybe able to tell me whats the treatment plan as the drain has now been in for 5 months, when back on New Years Eve I was told it would only be for 4-6 weeks ! ! !
I live in hope of being rid of the blooming thing, My social life is DDs on Sundays, Coffee morning on Tuesday I also change my library books on the way home, and a jolly day out sitting in the Hospice awaiting a pick upgood job I have a sense of humour. Even the receptionists at the hospice feel cross, bless them, for me.
But I plod on living in hope of a solution.I'm due to go on holiday 5 weeks today, and the DN has said she will supply me with spare drains and dressings so DD can change them if it's still in situ. Won't be doing much swimming that's for sure on IoW
Onwards and upwards I guess, but I am looking forward to the holiday house at Bembridge as its virtually on the beach with a lovely verandah at the front, so I can sit with my cuppa and knitting and watch the boats going up and down the Solent ,much nicer than sitting at home watching the tree across the road grow thats for sure
Cheers chums
