    No #12 checking in

Sorry I have been missing for quite some time. Life has got very very hectic and I don't find I have much time to catch up.

I have still been getting my £2 coins as cashback as and when I can, and counted my tin yesterday and I think I have £224 in there now! This money is going to go towards my car's new tyres when it needs them (likely in the winter again).

July was a good month once again! £62 in total - only one pretty though - a 2012 Olympics.  They came from a range of sources - change in my shopping and relatives saving them for me to swap.
I have exceeded my target but will continue to see if I can beat my other year totals!

  • Where on earth did July go?

I've been super busy here in West Cornwall.  My mum is nearly 84 and has decided that it's time to downsize so she is selling her bungalow and moving to a retirement flat much nearer to me and my sister.  So the last few weeks have been frantic with all the viewings of her place and fortunately, she has found a buyer.  Only 3 in the chain as mum is buying an empty flat and her buyer is selling to 1st time buyers.  If all goes well, she will be in early September.  My sister has not been able to help out lately as she's had covid - testing positive for a full 13 days.  She still has a nasty cold and cough but that should reduce quite quickly now that the virus part is over.  But at least she's now able to help out with .... carpet shopping, blind and curtain shopping, paint shopping ....  and so the list continues.

I've not stopped my £2 coin collecting though.  Since my last post, I've had to empty the pot as it's rather old and more cracking had started to appear - probably from the coins hitting the side when they go in.  So that turned out to be a banking session, with £126 going back into circulation.  The £2 spender is back at bingo, having been absent for several weeks (on holiday I think), meaning that my twice weekly trips to bingo continue to be a good supply of the gold bullion we all seek.  And last night, I bought 4 lucky dips on the lottery which came to £6 and the lovely lady at the till provided me with my £4 change in 2 x £2 - without me even asking as to whether she may have any in the till  :D.

    Happy potting everyone!

With just a couple of days of August left, it has been a poor month for £2 coins ☹️ only 4 so far..

  • A bit late in submitting my total for August. It does include about 4 coins for September also - I lost count!  So a healthy £56 added on.
I have returned to work after the summer holidays, I'm a teacher, just as the sunshine decided to pay us a visit. Typical!  Hope you are enjoying the sun!

Every one counts mummytummy!  I go through dry spells where there doesn't seem to be any around, and then they just seem to be everywhere  :D.  So keep with it, and don't forget to let people around you know that you are saving them, maybe for Christmas which is just 97 sleeps away
