Only 2 for me this week from bingo - both from the bar when I purchased my soft drink.  Not sure where they are all hiding but nothing from Mr T's, my corner shop, even hubby hasn't been able to find any for me.  Still, it's still a couple more added to the pot  :).  Will have a better week this week I'm sure.

Takes me to £302 now, so ahead of where I've been in the past few years.  That said, I did have someone at bingo cashing all their stock in and I think they must be away on holiday as not seen them for a couple of weeks.  Hopefully they will reappear with their hoard.  And who knows, maybe the self service checkouts will get refilled with £2 coins.  Only time will tell.

  • I've only used cash once since the start of the pandemic so this is a non-starter. I used to save all the commemorative coins when I got them in change though, but now tell myself they're not worth anything more than face value and should be cashed in but I never get round to doing so.

Well done everyone on saving those £2 coins - Nellie75, you really had a good April  :D

I've not had a lot of success over the past couple of weeks but my corner shop has served me well with the odd one here and there, along with a couple from hubby, and about £18 from bingo.  Seems my £2 coin spender there has used all his stockpile up, so only had 1 there yesterday.  The coins I have collected are all plain except for 1 DNA and 2 Shakespeare tragedy but they all count.

Lets hope May's total will improve as the days progress.

I got a pretty! A Shakespeare with skull. Hurrah for Asda, when they cooperate.

And today I had to buy a box of matches, but got two plain coins in my change. If persistence will wear them down, I'll do it...
