SIP do file their own claims so you can't really use the questions about VAT in the LBC response. But I WOULD respond, reiterating your stance.
You can ask for a 30 day hold which will push the court claim form to the Summer. DON'T delay it if you are more available April/May to handle it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The claimant or, if they're using a solicitor on their behalf, can send you an LoC. If it gives you 30 days and includes all the necessary forms (which you do not fill in) then it probably is an LoC. You can post on here if you're still not sure.1

I stand corrected - you might be right because for HMRC it's about the reason for the charge.
Worth the OP reporting SIP to HMRC then if they fail to answer the question.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Does the VRM show in full on that paid ticket receipt? Ask them to explain it. Await their response. THEN ask for the 30 day hold for debt advice which will get you through April/May and even if a claim arrives in late May you'd be defending it in June.PRIVATE 'PCN'? You don't have to respond to an LoC. If you need the extra 30 days, then you submit the "seeking debt advice" letter as close to the original 30 day deadline in the LoC.
The current time from a claim being filed and getting allocated to a local court is probably not less than 6 weeks and possibly much longer. Once assigned to a local court, it could then be another several months before a hearing date.
After a claim is filed and the defence is submitted, you will eventually receive an N180 DQ where you can block off any time you will not be available for a hearing. So, not really necessary to submit a 30 day holding response as it is highly doubtful this would reach a hearing before the summer.2 -
The VAT number is bogus-it should be either 9 or 12 digits.3
